🌟 If you are applying for a dog with us please make sure you meet our minimum criteria first. 🌟

1. Your dog is fixed and UTD on vaccines and prevention with a reliable vet reference.

2. You own your home - we often times do not adopt to renters based on the breed of dog you’re applying for. BUT If you do rent you need to email in an approval letter from who you rent from AND a long and detailed plan on what you plan to do should you need to move or could not find dog friendly housing. We do not rule out renters entirely we just want to make sure you have a plan.

3. Read the post entirety about the dog and make sure you meet ALL of the dogs needs whether that be a fenced in yard, no kids, not gone long hours etc. Each dog has its own set of unique needs.

Beyond this we also greatly take in the consideration your reason for adopting the dog. Adopting a dog as a gift for your 4 year old is not a good reason. We take a look at your experience and history with dog ownership as well. We take placement on our pups very seriously. If you feel that you meet all of the above requirements, have throughly filled out the application, and painted yourself as a good applicant then the dog you applied for simply may have been selected for another candidate. Once the dog is removed from our website the dog is no longer available and that is your answer that you have not been selected.

With that said if you meet all of our basic requirements and want your application to be applied for another dog in our care please comment on the post of that particular dog indicating so. Remember if you are applying for a dog that dozens of other people are there is only ONE dog and we just have to select ONE home from all of our options - it does not mean we do not think you are a great down owner it just means we can only choose one person out of the many wonderful applications we receive. by @ssbrfl

📣 🐾🐶SSBR ADOPTION PROTOCOL 📣🐾🐶

SSBR strives to find the best homes possible for dogs we invest a lot of money and time in saving. Although our application process may seem over the top to some and occasionally does weed out a few good homes here and there - it’s a price we are willing to pay to do our very best to ensure placement for LIFE of our animals. Even with such strict screening we still see returns.

Please understand here’s what we require at minimum: all current pets in the home be fixed and UTD on vaccines (yes we check), an exceptional vet reference, and overall please understand when you are filling out your application you are painting a picture of yourself. We want to KNOW you and why you think you make the best fit for our dogs.

If your application is selected for further review we do a home check and check to see if you own your home. For the small chance we approve a rental application, verbal and written communication is required from your landlord. At this time if your application shows the bare minimum, you lie, or we do not feel you a match for one of our dogs you will NOT be notified. With the amount of applications we receive daily we feel our time is served best in other areas and we do not have the woman power to respond to every single application. (Maybe if we gave up our entire lives and jobs there could possibly be enough hours in the day.)

We do require a non-refundable application fee. This is a ONE time fee. This fee is required to become an approved adopter if our rescue. If you are not selected for your first choice - your application can still remain on file with us for 1 year and will apply towards any future rescues. We truly appreciate everyone that continues to support us and adopt from us! We really work very hard everyday to save these precious lives all while trying to maintain a very normal life like everyone else - which includes working, families, personal pets, etc. 🐾❤️🐶 by @ssbrfl

ADOPT ME! Toffee/Lucy 🩷

Toffee is a 11 week old Mixed Breed puppy who is so tiny and so sweet. If you remember back, she is the puppy who unfortunately had an emergency injury to her jaw. She is healing great and is ready for her forever home! This cutie girl defied all odds, being born the runt of her litter — requiring extra TLC to survive, an abscess at just 4 weeks old then a jaw injury at 8 weeks 😩 Good news is, she’s finally doing great now and we will do all we can to make sure her future is as bright as her one blue eye!

She is good with other dogs, cats and kids. She has been spayed, vaccinated UTD and microchipped. Help us find the perfect home for her!

⚜️ANOTHER LOUISIANA BULLDOG⚜️

Tilli may be the CUTEST, petite English Bulldog in all the land 🩷 Tilli is a tiny girl, at just 30 pounds, she’s truly a pocket sized English. 😍 She’s funny, full of character and sassy. She is good with the other dogs in her foster home, the cat and loves every person she meets. She came to SSBR after eating bones and they were stuck in her colon, there’s no doubt her life before rescue was tough 💔 Tilli has been spayed, vaccinated UTD and microchipped. She will have her cherry eyes removed by the rescue.

⚜️LOUISIANA BULLDOG LOVERS ⚜️

Wrinkles is now accepting applications for adoption! This boy is literal EBD perfection. He’s happy ALWAYS, has a great demeanor and good with other dogs! We really don’t have anything negative to say about him - he may need a little tightening up on housebreaking skills initially but catches on. His owner died and no family members could keep him or the other dog in the home and sadly they were turned over to a shelter. He will be neutered, vaccinated UTD and microchipped prior to adoption. Help us find the most phenomenal home!
