“Control”
Is what rings in my head over and over looking at this drawing.

Have you ever listened to a song mindlessly, never questioning the meaning or the lyrics, only for it to hit you 4 years later on a car ride while you’re mulling over a profound thought you can’t shake, and you mutter, “holy sh*t.”

“I get it”

Control. Constant, and still as boring as the ending to the plot that we’ve predicted a million times.. totally saw that one coming. When are the script writers gonna get original?

Wait a minute.. is this film fictional? by @sshep.art

Ode to teenage angst.

Here is another lost archive from my missing sketchbook. I incorporated a sonnet that I wrote in my humanities class. The focus of the class was “love.” You could imagine how the throes of my 17 year old romantic connections influenced a lot of my writing for that class. (Spoiler alert I was dramatic) but I did end up making this banger of a sonnet. Kinda goes hard tbh.

I’ve been too weird about sharing my art.

Idk why it got to a point I started making it so much harder than it has to be.

I’m often too worried about how things are perceived, or if I’m trying too hard.

How could I be so hyper vigilant about showing strangers some of the deepest parts of my unconsciousness. How much more vulnerable can that be?

This drawing is lost forever along with a collection of other works in a sketchbook I prepared back in 2020. It was supposed to end up in Brooklyn. During the shipment, the package was tampered with and it never made it to its destination. I only scanned a few pages.

SELENE, MOON GODDESS- 2020
I dreamt of a goddess, crying and in so much anguish. I couldn’t comfort her but the pain and vivid imagery of this dream still sits with me. I still don’t know what it means, but I made this portrait of her in honor of whatever profound meaning I’ve yet to understand.

I hope I get more comfortable sharing these things, and I hope these things speak to and inspire someone. Someday. by @sshep.art
