As I pray this morning, I am thinking about Jesus and his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and how all the people were crying Hosannah! Hosannah! Hosannah in the highest!Yet by Thursday they were screaming for his crucifixion.
It amazes me how mankind can be so fickle that our hearts turn from God so quickly and so easily.
I’m also thinking about the fact that before Passover, the Israelites would have brought a lamb into their home for four days to check it for any blemishes before it was offered as a sacrifice.
I don’t know if you’ve ever held a baby lamb. I have held one for about five minutes, and I was flooded with emotion as I thought about that precious thing just totally relaxed and resting in my arms being killed as a sacrifice for my sin. They brought the lamb into their homes with their children. It probably would’ve lived there sort of like our pets do today.
As I contemplate all of this, I am flooded with emotion and repentance, but I also have hope as I remember that this is not the end of the story. Sunday is coming - the day when we remember that, if we have faith in Jesus, all of our sins are forgiven - and He takes our shame ❣️
Whatever you’re going through, Sunday is coming❣️ by @ssmelotte
