2ND MILE SALON RECAP ✊🏾 by @ssuhonors

🗳️ CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNITY IMPACT! 🐅💙🧡

This past weekend, Savannah State University students and faculty took to the streets of downtown Savannah to demonstrate their commitment to civic engagement and the importance of participating in the democratic process.

As early voting continues ahead of the November 3rd election, this moment serves as a reminder that being informed, engaged, and involved in our communities matters. Our students and faculty continue to exemplify the importance of using their voices and recognizing the role civic participation plays in shaping our communities and our future.🐅💙🧡

At Savannah State University, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. It empowers us to become informed citizens, engaged leaders, and agents of positive change.🐅

Yesterday, the Savannah State University section of NCNW joined faith leaders, organizations, and neighbors at St. Philip AME Church for “The Trail to Get Out the Vote” Early Voting Rally and March in Savannah.

Early voting is happening now. Make your plan, check your registration, and bring someone with you. 🗳️ #ncnwstrong by @ssuhonors

We love our University by the Sea! 🐅💙🧡 It was a pleasure to participate in our annual campus Homecoming Parade and to save some of our Honors Students participate in the Downtown Parade!💙🧡

Voting is more than just casting a ballot! 🗳️

The N’sider got a chance to attend a political candidate forum with SSU’s Honors Program to learn more about voter education and why staying informed matters!

Stay informed, stay involved, and stay in the know! 🎤✨

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and made our Political Candidate Forum a success! Your presence, participation, and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations made the evening truly impactful. 💙🧡

This event was a great collaboration between the SSU Honors Program, the Divine Nine organizations on campus, and our community partners in Savannah’ coming together with one shared goal: to inform, empower, and encourage civic engagement.🐅

It was an informative evening centered around why voting matters, the importance of being informed about the candidates and issues on the ballot, and the power college students have to make their voices heard. As students at an HBCU, we have a unique responsibility to honor the legacy of those who fought for our right to participate in the democratic process by staying informed, showing up, and exercising our right to vote.

Thank you to our candidates, moderators, organizers, partners, volunteers, and every student and community member who helped make this conversation possible. The work doesn’t stop when the forum ends, let’s continue the conversation, stay informed, and most importantly, VOTE! 🇺🇸🐅💙🧡

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Honors Program table for Fried Chicken Wednesday yesterday! 🐅💙🧡

We loved getting the chance to connect with SSU students, answer questions about the Honors Program, share upcoming events, and let students learn more about what we have to offer as a program! 📚✨

Of course, we had to add a little fun! Students voted on “Would You Rather?” and the winners are… 🍌 **Banana Pudding** over Peach Cobbler and 🍗 **Fried Chicken** over Low Country Boil!

Now it’s your turn! 👇🏽
**Which would YOU rather choose?** Banana Pudding or Peach Cobbler | Low Country Boil or Fried Chicken?
