My goal for 2026 has been to do at least one baking event a month. I've honestly really missed baking for myself and getting to try out crazy flavor combos. Here are some things I made at my last market. 1. Vanilla bean mini cupcakes, filled with homemade guava jam and topped with vanilla buttercream and gold leaf. 2. Brown butter banana rice krispy treats 3. Kohakutou flavored as pineapple, ginger beer, hibiscus, coconut lime, passion fruit 4. Mango sticky rice rice krispy treats #bakersgonnabake #bakingphotography #blackbaker #islandgirlinthedesert #homemadefromtheheart by @st.thomasgurl
Sometimes you just need a geode cake. Here we have a vanilla bean cake filled with a homemade guava jam and frosted with a vanilla bean american buttercream. The larger crystals are also homemade and are coconut lime flavored. #islandgirlinthedesert #geodecake #bakingphotography #bakingfromscratch❤️ by @st.thomasgurl
French financiers 2 ways Photo one has a passion fruit flat icing and is topped with sliced almonds Photo two I added toasted milk powder to increase the brown butter flavor. As well as a ton of fresh orange zest. Finally they are topped off with an orange vanilla bean flat icing. #islandgirlinthedesert #frenchbaking #bakingphotography #bakingfromscratch❤️ #financier by @st.thomasgurl
Arizona has decided that it fully needs to embrace winter this year. It's been FREEZING the last couple of days and I decided I needed something homey to combat it. Here we have a miso chili chicken pot pie that has a biscuit top brushed with garlic herb butter. #islandgirlinthedesert #homecooking #chickenpotpie by @st.thomasgurl
So excited to be a vendor for the first @floozyflea event of the year! I can't wait to show off all the sweet treats I've been thinking up😃😃 by @st.thomasgurl
I got home last night and decided that I NEEDED to use my ice cream maker. Here we have a spiced sweet potato ice cream topped with brown butter cinnamon rice krispy cereal. #bakingphotography #nomnomnom #islandgirlinthedesert #instabaking #bakersgonnabake by @st.thomasgurl

So I've been experimenting with different baking techniques and recipes lately. Here we have a concha with the Insomnia Cookies logo that I made for my team.
