When the body is done, the mask disappears.

Whatever emotion is left just comes out.

The point where someone has dug so fucking deep that they genuinely don’t know if they can keep going. The pain, the agony, the doubt.. all of it completely raw and impossible to fake.

Nothing staged. Nothing forced.

Just someone pushing themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of, trying to find enough left to take the next step.

I strangely love capturing those moments.

Not because I want to see people suffer, but because there’s something incredibly honest about them.

There’s no pretending when the body is done. No performance. No polished version of yourself left to hide behind.

Just grit, emotion and whatever comes out when someone has nothing left to give.

And that’s why I love shooting endurance events so much.

Because pain, struggle, doubt, relief and pride…. everyone can relate to that.

That’s the stuff I want to capture!
