STUDIO17 Design Edit | Issue No. 1

Kicking off our new series with a personal obsession—Chairs

Each piece here is more than just a place to sit – it’s a statement. These chairs blend style and function in ways that define a space without overwhelming it. From sculptural silhouettes to organic curves and industrial finishes, they each bring a unique energy to any room. Each piece encapsulates modern minimalism with a touch of retro flair. Some lean towards mid-century modern with their sleek lines and warm wood tones, while others introduce a bolder, industrial vibe through striking metal frames and geometric shapes. Together, they celebrate form, function, and pure design aesthetic.

Let us know which one you love most!

When you first open your door, what do you see, smell, and feel? These are the essential questions I ponder when curating a home. Considering how your space engages all your senses and is aesthetically pleasing from every angle significantly enhances its ambiance. One of my favorite moments is being greeted by an inviting fragrance and catching a glimpse of a sun-drenched room as I open the front door. taken in Harlem, New York City by @st_dio17

While strolling through the streets of San Juan, I stumbled upon these charming Jorge Zeno chairs. Initially, i didn’t notice them, but as I stopped for a rest, they captivated my attention serendipitously. In my search for tangible reminders of my travels, I’ve come to appreciate these memory snapshots that ignite inspiration. These chairs certainly did just that for me. by @st_dio17

In curating a home, I strive to ensure it’s an authentic reflection of myself, believing that a thoughtfully designed space embodies the essence of its inhabitants. A key aspect of achieving this is by collecting unique items during my travels.

During a recent trip to Mexico, I stumbled upon a charming handmade ceramic vase from Ayón Ceramics of Jalisco, México, crafted by a family steeped in the tradition of clay craftsmanship. Its inviting proportion immediately resonated with me. taken in Harlem, New York City by @st_dio17

Stools are versatile pieces of furniture that serve multiple functions, making them ideal for optimizing space in smaller areas. Whether utilized as stylish end tables or additional seating options, they effortlessly blend functionality with chic aesthetics, while their portability adds to their appeal. What I love most about stools are their ability to visually elongate a space, enhancing the overall ambiance. taken in New York, New York by @st_dio17
