Whats going on here? This isn't the firefly we're used to seeing in Germany...✨ Actually, i discovered this shy looking species in Corfu, Greece. Aside from the visual differences, this species tends to flash in sync, just like christmas lights. Plus, the light it emits is more yellow than Green, unlike the ones back home. When I was taking pictures of this little female firefly, she acted like a playful dog and struck all sorts of poses. She’s probably a very confident, photogenic firefly. Not every firefly flies. The female Lamprohiza splendidula spends her life close to the ground, glowing brightly from the vegetation while males search overhead. I was actually trying to catch a wool floater. And suddenly, this monstrous spider was right next to me! Definitely the BIGGEST. SPIDER. EVER. FOUND! It’s probably some kind of Pisaura mirabilis, but I can’t say for sure.
