Another weekend and another opportunity to get out there! I killed it on Saturday’s 5k and hit the struggle bus on Sunday’s Northshore Half Marathon. But happy that at 58 I still get to do hard stuff!
🎉My cheer team showed up on Sunday too and surprised me and if it weren’t for Leo I would have missed them at mile 10 because his was the only face that registered in my brain when I thought “hey, that’s my dog”!!! Obviously I was deep in the struggle!!! Great weekend, lots of friends along the route running and cheering! taken in Northshore Half Marathon by @stacyrunstheworld

What’s better than running a race? Bringing one of your lifelong friend’s along to run with you! Run Dollywood was a lot of fun. We did a 5k on Friday evening at 11pm, I did a 10k the next morning at 5:30am, and then a half marathon the next morning too. There was a lot of other fun in the smoky mountains in between the races too! We saw a bear 🐻, mountains ⛰️ , did the chicken 🐥dance, saw Dollywood 💕 maybe even a little 🍷🍹🥂 and 🏃‍♀️! taken in Dollywood Theme Park by @stacyrunstheworld

Great trip to NYC! Completed my 9+1 so I am going to be running the 2027 NYC Marathon!!! Met up wth my friends Christina and Richard for the Bronx 10 Mile race and after race celebrations! 🏃‍♀️💕🗽Got a local tour from my friend James and he took me to an amazing restaurant on a boat called the Frying Pan and told me all about his amazing adventures but we forgot to take a pic. 🚢🥗Then finished the trip with a tour of the Metropolitan Museums Costume Art exhibition. 🖼️🧑‍🎨 by @stacyrunstheworld

Met up with my friend Christina @chrissyl802 at the NYRR 5th Avenue 1 Mile Race and we found a new friend @rainingcoffee_440 Richard to add to our early arriving coral party group! It was raining so I had to be careful not to slip but the speed work and hills are starting to pay off with a 9:23 finish in the mile today! I packed light(for me) and headed to NYC for 26 hours of fun for race # 8 of 9 to get a guaranteed entry into the 2027 NYC Marathon. I have been working really hard on my speed to get in an earlier coral but who knew I just had to pick the race that starts the 50-59 year olds first! #Age has its privileges!!! I also learned how to take all public transportation from the airport to get to my destination. It took time and patience but was way easier on my pocket book! Mother & Son NYC Trip 2026 - we visited museums, ate ourselves silly, rode the subway, saw the Oculous and 9/11 museum, walked way too many blocks and checked out a comedy show. He hates pics but I got a few of us. I managed to fit in my 7th race to earn my NYC Marathon entry for 2027. Met up with my coral buddy Christina who brought me the most amazing Dunkin sun glasses since she works at their corporate office and talked her into wearing a Dunkin costume at her 2026 marathon. Only 2 more races for me to reach the guaranteed entry goal and still so more of NYC to explore!!! by @stacyrunstheworld

Today I completed race #6 of the 9 required for guaranteed entry into the 2027 NYC Marathon with the Percy Sutton 5k in Harlem. The hills were real, the heat was hot, and the fun was big! Met my new friend Christina in the corral and looking forward to meeting up with her in the next few races. Oh, and I earned a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery for all those miles!🧁 🌹🏃‍♀️💕 taken in Central Park, New York by @stacyrunstheworld

Runner’s World Magazine and REI did a collaboration article on trail running. They sent me some amazing gifts for being a part of the article! Even my Grand Dog Leo got to participate! Great job to the author of the article Casey Healy! @rei thank you for the gifts! by @stacyrunstheworld

Another check mark on my journey to the NYC Marathon 2027. 4 more races to go to earn than spot with this 9/11 Memorial & Museum 4 Miler in Central Park. I got in some other fun with a Sex and the City Tour, Times Square, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, attempted to get a Manhattanhenge picture but the clouds wouldn’t cooperate, tea at the Plaza, and finally some cupcakes from the original Magnolia Bakery.
