We gathered in the park yesterday & had a thought:

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦?

Quite a liberating idea, don’t you think? Play, be foolish. In community, you are free to make up your own rules, open your mind, embrace the weirdness and inspire one another through liberation.

𝙅𝙤𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚.

𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘴 is like the village square: a place where everyone can gather. Also this year we bring you a range of voices to play with your mind again until it opens.

𝗷𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗷𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗼 brings a folkloric and lorefolkic session that will make you question your roots before dancing your way into world citizenship. We are also collaborating again with 𝗔𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗼, a psychosocial creative centre in Ixelles, for a hybrid live set by 𝗗𝗝 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲. Afterwards, eccentric weirdos 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗸 𝗧𝘂-𝗧𝗼𝗸 take the stage.

Curated by 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿, Satanic Disco Doom & Accelerated New Wave trio 𝗗𝘂𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗻 will crank up the tempo and shake you into the night. 𝗬𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 closes the courtyard on Saturday with an exhilarating blend of club music and Arabic influences.

Meanwhile, 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘅 and 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗮 turn inward in the indoor space 𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦. Bulie conjures a minimal, bewitched landscape that feels at once unsettling and comforting. Fred howls like a benevolent madman, a voice that’s not only soulful but undeniably powerful.

This was a crazy night playing on a boat in front of the @abconcerts and we had to look for a sub right before the concert started. Thanks to @versterkerbxl we found one.

Deze week landt Stoemp! in twee Brusselse cafés!

💚 Dinsdag (26/05) vieren we samen met AB ’50 jaar punk’! Brussels collectief Stadskanker cureert een stevige avond in oldschool Stoemp!-café Le Coq. Op het menu: Sportweekend, Slinger, Klutter én @fooferband. See you in the pit!

💚 Donderdag (28/05) brengt Silke Hamers haar eigenzinnige mix van hedendaagse dans, muziek, slam poetry en performance naar Merlo.

Een stadskanker is een verrotte open wonde in de stad. Braakliggend terrein dat maar niet geneest. @stadskanker is ook een Brussels collectief en label, op doortocht van kraakpand naar micro-brouwerij, tussen pogo en pint.

In @brasseriedelamule sprak @florianstrik de drie bezielende drinkebroers achter dit nomadisch collectief (Gijs Teerlynck, Alexander Schillewaert en Melvin Podolski) over vijftig jaar punk en comfortzones.

Repo Man (1984)

Repo Man, directed by Alex Ce came out of nowhere in 1984. The film has no big stars, takes risks, is funny and works. A satire on Reagan-era America, all set against a backdrop of looming nuclear threat. The film was an unexpected success and has become a true cult classic over the years. Repo Man has a soundtrack packed with punk, culminating in the main theme by Iggy Pop. Repo Man is many things: a film about an alien invasion, a punk rock musical, a parody of consumer society. It had been long since we had a more punky evening in the record store (all with moshpitting, drinks & a tiny shop combining difficultly together!), but when we saw Ponyclub Tartiflette & Candy Scandale walk in together with the amazing amazing collective Stadskanker (& a huge pink unicorn plushie), we knew we were in for a treat!!

We hope everyone enjoyed this night, felt at home in our tiny venue & gets some great & happy memories whilst looking back at these pictures.
