a new way of getting rid of your fears theough journaling !

WHAT IS A JUNK JOURNAL
A junk journal is a handmade journal, crafted from recycled materials, found objects, and things you already have around your house. In this workshop, we will learn some book-making techniques and make a junk journal using the techniques.
HOW DO YOU JUNK YOUR FEAR ?
“Junk That Fear” is a creative and therapeutic journal workshop designed to help participants confront and transform their fears through artistic expression. The primary objective of this workshop is to empower individuals to confront their fears in a safe and supportive environment. By externalizing their fears through creative journaling, participants can gain a new perspective, reduce the emotional intensity of their fears, and develop coping strategies. Participants will bring in materials such as paper, cardboard, and images representing their fears. Through guided activities, they will use these materials to create art journals that visually and emotionally represent their journey of facing and overcoming fear.

Psychologists Say:
Exposure Therapy: Confronting fears directly, even in symbolic form, can reduce their power over us. By creating visual representations of their fears, participants engage in a form of exposure therapy, which is known to help desensitize individuals to their anxieties.
Art Therapy: Art as a therapeutic practice allows individuals to express emotions that might be difficult to articulate with words. It provides a non-verbal outlet for processing complex feelings and can lead to greater self-awareness and emotional healing.
Cognitive Behavioral Techniques: Transforming fear into art involves cognitive restructuring, where participants reinterpret their fears in a new context. This process can alter their cognitive and emotional response to fear.

Still recovering from the most wholesome, shiny, glittery weekend we spent hosting the Bits and Pieces Collage Activity Corner at the Art House, @nmacc.india as part of their latest exhibition 'Run As Slow As You Can'✨🍝🧻.
So humbled watching kids, adults and sometimes three generations of the same family sit and create ingenious collage artworks and badges out of the materials provided. Here's hoping for more participatory art workshops as engaging as this one!🥲🖍️🎨✂️💌.
