I learned this lesson by wasting my own money.

I paid for followers, and the number climbed quickly. But once I stopped paying, those followers began disappearing—and eventually, my account returned almost exactly to where it had started.

Buying followers isn’t real growth. You’re renting a number that you will have to keep paying to maintain.

Then embarrassment sets in. You worry that people are noticing your follower count dropping, so you panic and start paying again just to keep up the illusion. That is how people become trapped in a cycle of spending money on followers who were never truly interested in them.

Organic growth may take longer, but those are real people who genuinely connect with your content. Never be embarrassed by slow growth. Slow and authentic will always be more valuable than fast and fake.
