A little update on our Cal…

After coming off prednisone in June, we noticed a very slight change in his eye about three weeks ago. It was so subtle that if you weren’t looking closely, you probably would have missed it.

Unfortunately, his eye cancer is back.

Right now, his spirits are still high (see last slide)…even if his little eyelid is hanging a bit lower.

Our goal is still the same..keep him comfy, happy, and spoil him rotten. Plenty of pain meds, plenty of cheese, plenty of head massages, and as many good days as he’ll honor us with here.

CALVIN IS 6!!! We didn’t think he would make it to 5, never mind 6, but here we are!! Our boy still enjoys laying in the most inconvenient locations ever, practicing his disappearing act, and being a weighted blanket. He is filled with love, and he has a heart on this head to prove it. by @stanandcal

Pawsitive Update! Our boy Cal’s cancer is still in remission. He had his checkup yesterday and his Vet said she’s only seen one other dog live as long with this kind of lymphoma. Of course we asked what the record was …and then assured her he would beat it.

We’ve cut his prednisone dosage in half, which has ended his mandatory 2am and 4am bio breaks. He’s less ravenous and slightly less swollen. Our motto is quality not quantity when it comes to how to make health decisions for him and it seems to be working well 🥹

Un-health related … Calvin has been taking full advantage of our heart strings and has been allowing himself into the master bedroom, which has always been the strictly enforced NO dog room. He is often found bedside upon waking up, will join for morning stretches on the rug, or just patrol the shower for fun. by @stanandcal
