A state of affairs between many collaborations initiated by @demeyertheo @doorzon_interieur_architecten
POSTS STORIES REELS
Join our iterative and playful workshop about the architecture of the everyday, hosted in Copenhagen. The application window will be open from Wednesday, 14. May until Saturday, 14. June, 2025. Introducing this year’s Paraply School (@paraply ) workshop leaders, Stefanie Everaert (@doorzon_interieur_architecten ) and Theo De Meyer (@demeyertheo ), founders of Stand Van Zaken (@stand__van__zaken ). • Stand van Zaken— translated as State of Play — is a modular organism that that brings together specialists across various fields. It thrives on fluidity and adaptability, continuously reshaping itself in response to the contexts and encounters that inspire its projects. Founded by Belgian architects Theo De Meyer and Stefanie Everaert (co-founder of doorzon interieur architecten) it serves as a dynamic framework for capturing these moments in time. Stand van Zaken is centered around the creation of processes, spaces, and objects. It develops innovative works that merge diverse knowledge and skills, opening up creative possibilities. These collaborations are driven by a desire to craft new contexts and experiences, reinterpreting spaces and materials to uncover new meanings within familiar environments. • Visit paraplyschool.com and stay tuned for more updates coming soon. by @stand__van__zaken
2024.05.09 OFFICER’S BAR @stand__van__zaken @demeyertheo @doorzon_interieur_architecten @serbanserban Another wonderful collaboration with @horstartsandmusic and @barbatard Many thanks to The team of @horstartsandmusic @louisegoegebeur @bargotmossy @lukasclaessens @bvgldn ; The atelier team @uummeeee @anoukmeurice @isilyuc @ewoudviane ; To all workshop participants Pictures: Filip Dujardin “As a part of this year’s expo programme, the experimental collective Stand Van Zaken and multidisciplinary artist Serban Ionescu bundled their expertise for a total redesign of the former Officer’s bar. Once a mere relic of a military past, the space has now evolved into a ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’. The revitalization of the bar is a harmonious blend of circular materials, lively colours, and unexpected fixtures. The exterior also underwent a metamorphosis, thereby complementing the renovation of the interior finished at the beginning of this year. Inspired by the monumental entrance of Andrea Palladio’s Villa La Rotonda, Stand van Zaken and Serban Ionescu set out to create an accessible and inviting destination for everyone. Visitors are welcomed to the Paradeplein by a central entrance flanked by two sculptures. The side entrance is rethought as a generous user-friendly ramp for wheelchairs and pushchairs.  The mobile furniture allows for a flexible layout and multi-functional use of the space. The tables on wheels fit together as puzzle pieces, so that a central dance floor can appear, crowned by a room-filling chandelier which illuminates the interior. The new tapwall, as an altarpiece, is overlooking the space and ready to quench the thirsty. But the design not only honours the former purpose of this modest building: it moves beyond aesthetics and puts community at the literal centre. Hosted by Bar Bâtard the Officer’s Bar will serve as Asiat Park’s central meeting place where you can enjoy drinks, food and various activities all year around. Besides this, they will also engage with social associations, starting from June onwards. Together with poverty organisation Warmkracht they will host social initiatives and workshops, supporting the local neighbourhood.” by @stand__van__zaken

Can life become richer in a less predetermined domestic environment? What can life in a vast climate-responsive space teach us about migratory living? And what tools can we create to facilitate this particular life? These are the questions Stefanie and Theo @stand__van__zaken explored through “The Moving Spirit” taking their life in the greenhouse over the past years as a case study. Their Residency at ‘et al.’ gave them a moment to reflect, document and look back on the years spent inhabiting the space. Dear all, Save the date.. After six wonderful years, the time has come to say goodbye to our beloved Serra. Before moving out, we would love to open the doors one last time and share the space with you. Over the years the greenhouse has been many things: a workplace, a meeting place, a place for experiments, conversations, dinners and unexpected encounters. Before we leave, we would like to invite you to experience it once more. During our closing weekend we will host an open studio and sale. Furniture, prototypes, cacti, books and materials from the space will be available, along with drinks and pleasure. If you’ve ever thought about taking a piece of the greenhouse home, this might be the moment. All proceeds will support our move. You are warmly invited to join us at Serra on Saturday 28/03 and Sunday 29/03, from 10:00 to 18:00. Feel free to pass by, stay for a while, have a drink and say goodbye to the space. And be quick… you are certainly not the first, nor the only one, who has been asking about the furniture and the cacti. Renaat de Rudderstraat 43a, 9850 Landegem A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of Serra over the past six years: friends, collaborators, neighbours, visitors and family. You made this place. Warmly,
Stefanie & Theo Graphics: @mathieuserruys @jorisverdoodt Snapshots: @maxcreasy by @stand__van__zaken
