This is one of the biggest mistakes businesses make. They jump straight to the agent before they have clearly mapped out what the work actually is, what steps need to happen, what decisions need to be made, and what the correct outcome should look like.

If the process is vague, inconsistent, or stuck in someone’s head, the agent has nothing solid to follow. That is when things start breaking, outputs become unreliable, and people blame the AI when the real issue was the missing process.

AI agents do not fix messy operations. They expose them.
