As Standing Together Vienna we believe in standing with our queer siblings. During Pride Month, it is important to use our voices to remind and remember:
Remember our fellow queers that have lost their lives to queerphobic laws, genocidal actions, and repressive systems all over the world. Remember our fellow queers who are currently hiding, searching for safety and bodily autonomy.
Remind ourselves that Austria still has a lot to do to ensure queer people feel safe and are treated with equality. Among many other issues, the waiting lists for gender-affirming healthcare are painfully long. Health care professionals still have major knowledge gaps when it comes to providing adequate care to trans individuals.
We need to stand united against all forms of racism - including antisemitism and islamophobia -, ableism and queerphobia.
That’s what your queer friends need you to do right now!

Call to participate at the "Marsch fürn Arsch" protest:

Put them through hell!
Saturday, 13.06.2026 | 12 PM | Stephansplatz
Last year, the route of the Christian fundamentalists was successfully snatched away. Instead of the fundamentalist's march, a radical queerfeminist demonstration marched through the 1st district. This year, the fundamentalists are back and want to express their sexist, racist and anti-queer ideology with a "Prayer March for the Family".
We will not let this go unanswered!
On Pride Day, there is no place for a march by right-wing extremists and fundamentalists who oppose marriage for all, want to banish women back to the stove and oppose the
self-determination of FLINTA*!
We won't let the fundamentalists spoil Pride Day! That's why there will be another radical demo this year that will give the fundamentalists a hard time!
Against fundamentalists and sexists!
Fight the Power, Fight the Cis-tem!

Film Screening & Discussion with Meron Rapoport (+972 Magazine)

NAZA
Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor | GB/US/IL 2026 | 80 min | OV + English subtitles

October 15th | 18:00
Filmcasino | Margaretenstraße 78, 1050

Tickets: https://www.filmcasino.at/film/naza/

Following the Oscar success of "No Other Land," Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor return with a new, highly topical documentary film: Over a period of more than three years, Abraham and Szor spoke with members of the Israeli military and intelligence services. 24 Israeli intelligence officers and soldiers speak anonymously in the film; their voices and appearances were digitally altered. Their testimonies form the basis for an investigation into the military structures, decision-making processes, and technologies behind Israel's warfare in Gaza.

+972 Magazine is an independent, online, nonprofit magazine run by a group of Palestinian and Israeli journalists. Founded in 2010, their mission is to provide in-depth reporting, analysis, and opinions from the ground in Israel-Palestine.
Their core values are a commitment to equity, justice, and freedom of information. They believe in accurate and fair journalism that spotlights the people and communities working to oppose occupation and apartheid, and that showcases perspectives often overlooked or marginalized in mainstream narratives.

ENGLISH FROM SLIDE 7 ONWARDS

At the UN General Assembly, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen took an unusually clear stance by explicitly confronting Israel with its war crimes and violations of international law against Palestinians while affirming Israel's right to exist.

Given the ongoing state-backed attempt to ethnically cleanse Palestinians as a people, this long overdue statement statement is still welcome.

The predictable reactions arrived promptly: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed the accusation and said Van der Bellen, as the head of the state complicit in the genocide of the Jewish people, should be ashamed.

An Austrian pro-Israel lobby group joined in too, claiming Van der Bellen offered no evidence and accusing him of "singling out Israel" to pander to certain crowds.

But calling his statement baseless means willingly ignoring that numerous respected international bodies and human rights organizations — including Israeli ones — have documented and in some cases formally concluded that Israel has committed war crimes, crimes against humanity, apartheid, and genocide.

None of this is new. Such actors claim to accept "reasonable" criticism of Israel, but the threshold moves the moment criticism actually names the systemic, state-backed mechanisms behind the situation.

In practice, only criticism of Ben Gvir, Smotrich, Netanyahu & Co. passes — and even that only if they're framed as a fringe minority, although they hold significant power and enjoy broad support in Israeli society.

We've seen this mechanic play out numerous times, recently with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas and British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, both coming under heavy attack by Israel and its staunch supporters the minute substantial criticism is voiced or significant measures (like sanctions) are being implemented.

We call on our leaders to stop pandering to the set of rules posited by pro-Israel actors and instead listen to the experts in their assessments of international law and its violations.

Today’s pogrom in the village of Tell, alongside the subsequent pogroms across Far’ata, Jit, and Iraq Burin, are not isolated incidents. They are the result of a long-standing pattern of organized settler violence enabled by impunity and military backing.

Instead of protecting Palestinian communities and preventing further violence, the Israeli military has classified the events in Tell as a ā€œterror attackā€ and launched a military operation targeting local Palestinians - all while settler pogroms continue to spread.

We call on the Austrian government, international human rights organizations, companies operating in or with Israel, and all people who stand for human rights: do not remain silent.

Urgent international pressure is needed to stop this escalating violence, protect Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank, and hold those responsible for attacks against civilians accountable. Silence only fuels further violence. taken in Vienna, Austria by @standing.together.vienna

Combatants for Peace is a joint Palestinian-Israeli movement committed to nonviolence and to ending systems of occupation and oppression through shared action and public advocacy. Our activists Suhair Ghanim and Tamar Alon were invited to share their personal stories and speak about the joint work of our binational movement at a conference in Vienna on דBuilding Community Beyond Bordersד.
