I’ve started and deleted many versions of this message. I really don’t know what to say.

Campaigns are tough, and it’s hard not to take elections as a referendum on yourself. Part of me is proud of what we were able to build: raising more than $60,000 in four months, earning the support of over 300 donors, knocking nearly 5,000 doors, receiving numerous endorsements, having thousands of conversations, and wearing out a pair of sneakers. On the other hand, we came up well short of our goal.

As I type this, it’s 3:30 a.m. and I’m listening to my son stir in his sleep while really really hoping he doesn’t fully wake up.

So I think the most important thing I should say is thank you.

Thank you to my mom, who probably knocked half those doors herself.

Thank you to my wife, who supported me through this campaign while we were raising a newborn, and whose love and encouragement I leaned on so much.

Thank you to my mother-in-law, who picked baby Stanford up from daycare so I could go straight from the courthouse to knocking doors.

And thank you to everyone who believed in me enough to give their money, their time, and their labor. I have leaned on my community a lot these last few years. Through battling cancer, becoming a father, and running for office, I have been blessed with people who have carried me and believed in me.

There’s an old proverb that says if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

I don’t know how far my journey will take me. But I do know how blessed I am to have a village to go with me.

Our Favorite Progressive Candidates in 2026 - Stanford Fraser @stanfordformd , Maryland House of Delegates District 24

This year is the quadrennial election for all state legislative positions in Maryland. One of the features of Maryland’s House of Delegates is that in many districts, there can be multiple representatives. In District 24, which covers part of Prince George’s County, three delegates are elected, but this year there is a field of seven candidates.

One of those candidates is Stanford Fraser (he/him), a Black millennial public defender. A graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC and Harvard Law School, Stanford is a die-hard Game of Thrones fan and Pokemon card collector. He has testified to the state government regarding legislation to ban no-knock warrants, require body cameras for police, and decriminalize drug possession. A former Amnesty International volunteer, he organized area college students and led protests to abolish Maryland’s death penalty, which Maryland did that same year. Today, Stanford’s platform rests on the pillars of criminal justice reform, overhauling healthcare, and lowering utility bills for Prince George’s residents.

Took a break from working the polls to walk in the 32nd Annual Capitol Heights Day Parade. We always have a good time out with the community. And found a way to stay hydrated lol. Stanford Fraser for District 24. by @stanfordformd

Excited to receive the endorsement of the Maryland NOW PAC!

The National Organization for Women has been fighting for equality, reproductive rights, and the dignity of women and girls for years.

As a public defender I have seen firsthand what happens when systems fail women and families. In Annapolis I will be a fierce advocate for reproductive rights, equal pay, and policies that protect and uplift women in District 24 and across Maryland. by @stanfordformd

Honored and humbled to receive the endorsement of the historic AFRO Newspaper!

For over 130 years, the AFRO has been the voice of Black communities across Maryland and beyond. Their endorsement means a lot to me.

I’ve spent years as a public defender fighting for Prince George’s County residents who couldn’t afford a lawyer. Now I’m running to take that fight to Annapolis, fighting for housing, jobs, and lowering the cost of living for working families in District 24.

Early voting starts THIS THURSDAY June 11th. Election Day is June 23rd. If you’re in District 24, I need your vote. by @stanfordformd

Our crew from the last Saturday door knocking session before early voting starts. Lost count of the doors but my Apple Watch died when I was at 25,000 steps. And a little cameo from one of my favorite “no soliciting” signs of the campaign season. by @stanfordformd

A great Saturday for the campaign. We started off at the AFSCME office for their canvassing launch for endorsed candidates. Then we got a crew together to knock about 200 doors in the district. We always love some direct voter contacts. Stanford Fraser, Fighting for District 24. by @stanfordformd

As we crossed over 300 donors we started writing thank you post cards to donors. If your postcard is a little wet that’s because baby stan is teething. Even with the rain we kept up with knocking. And then yesterday a young child asked to take a picture with my yard sign. So I had to say yes when I see the youth still rocking Kanto Pokemon. Stanford Fraser for District 24. Something great happened on my birthday, we crossed over 300 unique donors!!

I’m deeply grateful to everyone helping power this grassroots campaign for House of Delegates in District 24.

This campaign is being built person by person, door by door.
