This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re celebrating the incredible Hispanic and Latino residents who bring their cultures, languages, perspectives, and experiences to Stanford Pediatrics! 🇲🇽 🇬🇹 🇧🇿 🇸🇻 🇭🇳 🇳🇮 🇨🇷 🇵🇦 🇨🇺 🇩🇴 🇵🇷 🇨🇴 🇻🇪 🇪🇨 🇵🇪 🇧🇴 🇧🇷 🇵🇾 🇨🇱 🇦🇷 🇺🇾 🇵🇹

We have the privilege of caring for a large Hispanic/Latino patient population across all of our clinical sites in the Bay Area. Representation in medicine matters, and we’re proud of the role our residents play in fostering culturally responsive care, building trust with patients and families, and advocating for more equitable healthcare.

We were proud to have our residency represented at the @lmsanational conference in Houston, TX, along with other Stanford GME programs. Our PGY3, @marielos_dagostino and residency APD and GME Assistant Dean, Dr. Yemane, got to speak with pre-health and medical students about why a career in pediatrics is the best and the ability to serve a large Spanish-speaking population in the Bay Area.

As a bonus, they got to reunite with Lisa Umeh who was one of our chief residents last year and recently started PEM fellowship at Baylor! by @stanfordpeds

Pics from intern bootcamp!!!

At the beginning of every academic year, our PGY-1s spend their Tuesday mornings in “Intern Bootcamp”, where they learn essential skills and knowledge applicable to succeeding during the first year of residency. We’ve had sessions on various procedures, efficient pre-rounding, reviewing telemetry, navigating our EHR, creating effective assessments & plans, and so much more!!

Our interns are already doing an amazing job and we are so happy to have them all within our program! by @stanfordpeds
