Productivity.

You can spend all day doing your job, or you can spend all day teaching AI how to do your job, correcting it when it fucks up, checking whether it hallucinated something, and then doing half the work yourself anyway.

Revolutionary.

I’ve been saying for years that the economics of this shit eventually have to matter.

Right now companies can burn billions chasing the promise that AI will replace enough human labor to justify the cost. But eventually somebody has to make money with it.

And the second this starts consistently hitting the pocketbooks of salespeople, contractors, small businesses, and everyone else who was promised AI would make them more productive instead of making them the unpaid supervisor of a chatbot, the honeymoon is fucking over.

I think we’re watching the bubble start to crack.

AI isn’t disappearing. Neither did 3-D printing. Neither did snail mail.

But “this technology has useful applications” and “this technology is going to restructure the entire fucking economy” are two very different claims.

My money is increasingly on the former.

It’s crazy how an internet rabbit hole can spiral into something this cool years later.

When I was 19, I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and discovered who could quite possibly be the greatest guitar player who ever lived: @rustycooleyofficial

I know, I know. “Greatest guitar player ever” is a loaded statement and everybody has an opinion. But the man can shred.

Some online exchanges eventually turned into private guitar lessons. Years pass, life happens, and then one day I get:

“Hey man, you still living in Vegas?”

And somehow that turned into this.

Surreal is probably the only word for it.
