He would be the one to call the heavy breathing race cars from Britain "the fastest lorries in the world" out of frustration. This period would mark the end of Bentley as following the historic great depression, Rolls Royce would swoop in and buy their competitor in an act of corporate espionage.

Part 2 of W.O. Bentley's tragic story. Rolls Royce was not happy with the how great value the Bentley 8 Litre was in comparison to the Phantom II. The Bentley 8 Litre could do 100mph no matter what coachbuilt body sat on it. And Rolls Royce were going to be very lucky when the great depression would hit in 1929 and Bentley was forced to sell.

When W.O. H.M. Bentley started Bentley Motors in 1919, they never expected it to turn into the household luxury automotive name it would go onto become. Little did they know that Rolls Royce of all people, would be praying for their demise. The new Bentley Torcal is only able to fly because the Bently Blower and the Bentley 8 Litre were able to jog and then run almost 100 years ago today.

Trust me, the GR Corolla is THAT girl. With 400 Nm of torque from a 1.6 L 3 cylinder engine and a 4 wheel drive system that it shares with its race car sibling, this hot hatch challenges all its competitors on South African roads with trying to get away from it at a red light. But tell me 🇿🇦 which one are you driving away in between the Golf R, Honda Civic, BMW 135i or the GR Corolla.
