Follow along as I solar print cards for Mother's Day! Have you used solar dye/cyanotype before, what's your experience? There are lots of variables when using the sun to print which creates challenges, but I appreciate the variety in each print. 🌤️

Shouts out to all the women and mothers this month. Even if you haven't or can't give birth to human life, this design is inspired by the innate and divine creativity all women possess. 🦪💘

Let me know if you're interested in purchasing one of these cards, I have another design in the works also! 🎨 by @star.k_dez

⚖️A brief glimpse into my process for printing a greeting card series by hand, Libra edition.

🎨Decided using somewhat of an "overprinting" technique would save me from lots of hours carving, and so far so good. The borders have come out clean; I'm takin' notes along the way. I've been pleasantly surprised with how the symbols' design interact with the borders.

✨Next is Scorpio, what do you associate with this sign? Let me know, might make its way into the next design. by @star.k_dez

Ward off woodland cryptids and bloodthirsty bounty hunters. Secure a garment from Lord Overstreet featuring the divine mark, carefully hand-drawn by yours truly and skillfully printed by @loudandclearstudio. The sigil, placed over the heart, will most certainly provide reprieve from what is soon to come.

Always exciting to see designs be brought to life. Catch @lordoverstreet wherever you can and spread the gospel. by @star.k_dez

♍️🌿Virgo! Hand-crafted cards now at @localslouisville Perfect for seasonal gifts, birthdays, or just cause you're thinking of a virgo<3

Took a break from printmaking for a while so don't take it personally if your sign was skipped... I'm playing catch up! Previous seasons are still up for grabs in the store (plus Dad cards🔩), come take a look. ✨🌟

Fret not- libra is already in the works! ⚖️🌬️Last couple of slides are sources of inspiration while I design the individual glyphs for each star sign. Been pulling from Greek & Byzantine manuscripts, really neat to see the evolution of the symbols. 🖋️📜 by @star.k_dez

Oil painting I finished earlier last month for my coworker, Lukas, and his partner. 16” x 20” on canvas.

It was an honor to celebrate their love and spend time in the beautiful landscape of zinnias. I don’t openly accept oil painting commissions since they are pricey and take many hours, but this one was very special. I worked with a limited palette and mainly painted “alla prima” to imitate an impressionist style. I studied the colors and undertones to create a unique image that feels more lively and personal than the photograph I worked off of. Thank you to Lukas for giving me the time and trust! taken in Old Louisville by @star.k_dez

Another Father's Day card design for the outdoorsmen. For these prints I combined two different printmaking processes- relief print and cyanotype. I experimented a lot with much trial and error but finally arrived at this unique final product using two techniques.

These cards will be at Locals @localslouisville & @thebarretbabes soon for $6/ea along with the other Father's Day design. The inside is left blank so you can write your own personalized message.

Special shoutout to my partner Spencer for cutting me some perfect oak tree faces! <3 It's a great feeling having loved ones support your work. by @star.k_dez

Feelin' quite handy if I do say so! 🛠️ Hand-printed Father's Day cards are now available.

Handcrafted typography from miscellaneous hardware pieces because dads can be pretty handy! Printed with cyanotype process. I have another batch in the works, so keep an eye out.

These Father's Day cards are available now at Locals, $6/ea (or HMU if you want to purchase direct thru me). by @star.k_dez

Another flyer for longtime patron, Derik, of @lordoverstreet I always get inspired from their transcendental sound- the artwork just flows.

Handcrafted lettering from twigs and sourced block prints by Black printmaker and artist, Hale Woodruff to include some Southern Gothic aesthetics (his work & Elizabeth Catlett's inspired the opening animation sequence of Sinners [5th side by @blockforest ]). Background imagery is a collage of an old handwritten log from Eastern Cemetery here in Louisville overlayed with a Sankofa Adinkra originating in Ghana but found in many ironworks in the US today.

I love the research process in design, even "simple" flyer commissions are opportunities to learn and spread history. Go back and get it. taken in Louisville, Kentucky by @star.k_dez
