I’ve been feeling very powerless seeing the decline in many animal populations, especially insects. I am one person but I want to try and make a difference even if it is just spreading awareness. Here are some easy ways to help insect populations and some good resources to read ^^
🪲
- Convert lawns into habitat by planting native species and limiting/stopping mowing. Even partially replanting provides tons of vital habitat.
- Reduce pesticide and herbicide use. These harmful chemicals travel far and kill beneficial insects.
- Limit use of outdoor lighting. Light pollution exhausts nocturnal insects and makes it easier for predators to kill them.
- Educate friends and family on the importance of insects to lessen the fear and stigma around this crucial group of animals.
- Get involved in local politics. Political advocacy especially at local level shows governments that people do care and advances conservation efforts.

Some great organizations you can donate to! (Do not feel pressured, sharing as well as boosting this post for other people to see is also greatly appreciated!!)
