Sabir is currently in its early stages, developing into a small, screened community that I am building carefully.

For many years I have looked for a community in India and found almost nothing connected to my context, nothing grounded in the reality of navigating chronic illness here, at this age, alongside a life filled with relationships, friends, family, work, and more.

Why create this community?

I have lived with chronic illness since childhood. At 30, I am handling two diagnosed physical health conditions whose cumulative impact has led to 20+ years of struggle.

Over a decade of conversations with chronically ill people in India, the gaps were consistent: isolation, unsupportive medical infrastructure, unreliable information, and the absence of people who understand without explanation.

So I decided it was time to build that community.

Sabir is for those navigating chronic illness alongside full lives.

Two weeks completed in rural Rajasthan; I think in your early 30s new friendships become a more challenging and far-off concept and being here has allowed me the opportunity of friendship with some gems.

Yesterday I attended the inauguration ceremony of the Satyarthi Fellowship, hosted by @smgc_official in New Delhi. It was a more profound experience than I was prepared for, and my awe and excitement for the year increased exponentially through the evening.

Since receiving my acceptance into the fellowship, I have felt a sense of responsibility & purpose- the understanding that my energies and actions must now be channelled towards a particular path. Compassion as a way of life is a true test of character; I know my own flaws too well, but having this guiding principle as I look to the future allows clarity, and takes conviction that yesterday has steadied and amplified.

Speeches from advisors, mentors, global leaders, heads of state, and changemakers resonated deeply and I look forward to a year of transformation, challenges, strength and service.

I will write at length on my reflections, but for this morning the takeaway is simple-
