My five cents on hair growth:

1. Genetics plays a heavy role in texture, density, color and growth rate….not so much in length.

2. The length of your hair is HEAVILY dependent on your length retention technique. You HAVE to put in the work if you want to retain length 😂

3. Leaving your hair alone is a CRUCIAL hack for length retention. I rarely manipulate my hair. I wash it, put it in a protective style and leave it alone for 4-6 weeks.

4. Low tension hairstyles are your best friends. The 3 hairstyles you will almost always see me on are: mini twists, mini braids and cornrows. This is what works for me.

5. Consistency and patience is key😂. Find a routine that works for you and stick with it! For me, it’s washing my hair once every month and putting it in a protective style that allows me take care of my scalp.

Bonus: incorporate a “hair tea rinse” into your routine and thank me later 😉

I do recognize that there are specific SENSITIVE cases where exceptions and caveats should be acknowledged/addressed. That being said, you people do this with the most OBVIOUS scenarios😭. Like, IT IS OBVIOUS what the exception is but you just want to interrupt what I’m saying 🤦‍♀️. And I’ve noticed that it’s usually the “negative” exception you want us to acknowledge 🙄…But discussion for another day🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️
