—in art the purpose is in the creation, not the result. grow as you build. autotelism. ‘auto’ for self and ‘telos’ for goal. find joy in the learning, not in what it will get you. it took me so much searching to stop searching. art is fueled by longing but you must learn to want what you have, not get what you want. it’s the only way to stop suffering.

// some days i get so tired of having dreams and ambitions that i fail to achieve day after day. yes, i want to make art and earn enough to live and eat. i want to thrive, not just survive. i’m so tired of suffering. i want to feel seen and heard and understood. i crave connection. but if my art goes unseen or unappreciated then what does that mean? was it even worth pouring myself into? i do find so much joy in creating and expressing myself, but if it isn’t enough to put food on the table or allow me to live contently then what the hell am i doing this for?
