Jamie Starr has had more great jobs in the ski industry than most guests I’ve had on the show. Really, he was born to be a part of this industry. Growing up in Crested Butte taught Jamie a love of the mountains and understanding of what it takes to make non-traditional athletes tick, which all helped him in his later endeavors. But what drove Jamie was a passion to not only be the best, but to do good and really make a difference in the world. You ski long enough, you learn to humbly take what Mother Nature gives you. And last week, she beckoned us into Japan’s highest mountains, and provided us with clear skies and a canvas of stable snow after historic amounts had fallen during the previous weeks. If we wanted to ski bottomless pow in the birch, we’d have visited in January! 😜 An Everest’s worth of human-powered skiing, harmoniously blended with the soft rhythm of daily life in the rural areas we visited, was something we both needed—and an experience I’ll cherish forever. Grateful to be part of a community of others similarly inclined to adventure and cultural exploration, and for the record, the @sweetgrassnick Japan program is 💯. 🇯🇵🙏🏽 @lilistarr by @starrj
