We’re proud to showcase the works of Roman Akulov in Startart gallery — an artist whose journey is as powerful as his creations.

Born with a congenital condition affecting his hands, Roman has never let limitations define him. Instead, he transformed them into a unique strength, developing a distinctive artistic voice that speaks through every piece he creates.
His work is a testament to resilience, passion, and the limitless nature of creativity.

Start Art Gallery presents a selection of works by Valco, an Argentine artist based in Barcelona.

Through gestural brushwork, layered textures, and an instinctive use of color, his paintings move between abstraction and figuration, constructing subtle narratives rooted in human experience.

Working with reclaimed materials, his practice reflects both an environmental awareness and a deeply personal exploration of form and meaning.

Now on view.

Sarkhan Gadzhiev “under the moon” acrylic on canvas 90x120

“The painting captures a moment of inner revelation when the line between the outer and the inner dissolves. The woman seems caught by the moon at the instant of meeting something fragile and alive, a flower that suddenly becomes a mirror.

Her movement is uncertain, somewhere between a dance and stillness. In that hesitation the truth appears. The moon watches quietly, a calm witness to someone else’s awakening. Its light touches the figure and turns an ordinary gesture into something almost sacred.

The tears on her face are not from sorrow but from recognition. She sees herself, not on the surface but in essence, within what she once believed was separate. It is the moment when a person feels their connection with all living things, and a quiet guilt for having been blind to it.

The composition is simple yet tense: the body leans forward, the hands searching for balance. The night around her absorbs the air, leaving only the moon, the leaves and two white flowers as signs of life and silent awareness.

This is not a story or an action. It is a state of being, a moment when the world finally answers and a human being is able to hear it.” Text by Author by @startart_gallery
