Studying anatomy too early is a bad idea, here’s what to do instead :)

Beginner artists are told to study perspective before jumping into anatomy. they draw some boxes but don‘t know what to do afterwards. They draw more boxes but wonder how this even relates to drawing humans and for some reason, no one tells them.
With this post tried to explain exactly that, while keeping it as compact as possible.

lmk if it helped or if u have any more questions :)

Studied some skulls yesterday (slides 2-4) the rest is stuff I drew a few days ago but didn't make into the bodylanguage posts.

Lmk if you're interested in learning any of the above or suggest a topic you want me to cover!

Now here's a fun one :D it goes from bodylanguage to construction, then some anatomytips, hairtips, cigarettes, 67, and ends with answering some follower questions/requests!

I was trying to find new ways to explain 3-point-perspective & came up with the model on slide 2!
Thinking about it this way also solves a rotation-problem I personally had a bunch of times (slide 3)
The rest of the slides are going into detail for those who are interested^^

I could do more posts on 3pp in the future explaining things like how slide 2 would look if they'd tilt or turn their head, lay down, move around how to rotate the cube up/down. Lmk if it would help or be confusing, I can't really tell 🫢

I created this a few days ago & wasn’t sure if I should post it as structuring the process gave me some ideas on how i could have explained it in a better or at least more compact way 📦

However, I thought I'd share it the way it is right now and maybe do an updated version in the future!

If some slides seem complicated or overloaded, skip to the ones you find intersting 🙂‍↔️ I promise you'll find at least 1 thing u didn't know!

I was a little hesitant to post this as I usually focus on human anatomy BUT I think it's nice to tackle some different topics from time to time 🐈

Obviously my focus always will stay on humans, poses, portraits, perspectives… BUT
if you wanna suggest another topic you’re interested in, feel free to suggest it in the commentsection of this internet publication AND pet your cat for me 🐱(pet it 2 times if orange) by @startwithafox
