What does it means to be LICENSED and VENDORIZED ? 🏘️

Not all residential homes operate under the same standards, and understanding the difference matters!

Being a State-Licensed Adult Residential Facility (ARF) means our home is regulated by the State of California and required to meet specific standards for health, safety, staffing, resident rights, and quality of care. We are subject to licensing inspections and ongoing regulatory oversight.

Being an approved Regional Center vendor takes it a step further! It means our facility has completed the Regional Center’s vendorization process and is authorized to provide services to eligible individuals with developmental disabilities through the Regional Center system.

So what sets us apart? ✨

✔️ State Oversight & Accountability – We operate under established licensing regulations and are subject to inspections.

✔️ Qualified & Trained Staff – Our team receives training to support residents’ individual needs, safety, and daily living.

✔️ Individualized Care – Services are centered around each resident’s goals, abilities, and level of support needed.

✔️ Behavioral Support – We provide structured support and access to behavioral resources to help residents succeed.

✔️ Regional Center Partnership – We work within a coordinated system of services, support plans, and accountability.

✔️ Independence & Community Integration – Our goal is not just to provide housing, but to help individuals develop life skills, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful experiences.

A license represents responsibility. Vendorization represents an additional level of approval and partnership. Together, they reflect our commitment to providing quality, person-centered residential services.

We’re not just providing a place to live. We’re creating a supportive environment where individuals can grow, thrive, and feel at home. 🤎

When we opened our first Adult Residential Facility, we had no idea just how much that journey would change our lives. It challenged us, stretched us, and inspired us to keep going.

Today, I’m so excited to share that we’re officially licensed with our second ARF. 🤍

This journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve cried tears of frustration, uncertainty, and exhaustion—but I’ve also cried tears of joy, gratitude, and accomplishment. Every obstacle has been a lesson, and every milestone has reminded me why I started. In the end, it has always been worth it.

Successfully opening two licensed ARF homes has given me the confidence I once wished I had when I was just getting started.

Because of that, I’m excited to announce that I’ll soon be offering an ARF eBook and one-on-one consultations designed to help guide others who aspire to open and operate their own Adult Residential Facility. My goal isn’t to promise shortcuts—it’s to share real-world experience, guidance, and lessons learned from doing it firsthand.

If you’ve ever thought about starting an ARF, stay tuned. I’m excited to help others take that first step with confidence.

Today marks one year since we officially opened the doors of our Adult Residential Facility.

This journey has been filled with hard work, dedication, and countless hours behind the scenes. Operating an ARF involves much more than providing care—it requires ongoing staff training, medication certifications, administrative work, documentation, and maintaining compliance with Title 17 and Title 22 regulations. Over the past year, we’ve successfully navigated inspections, unannounced visits, and the daily responsibilities that come with running a quality care home.

While it hasn’t always been easy, every challenge has been worth it. The most rewarding part has been seeing the positive impact we’ve made in the lives of our residents and their families. Their growth, happiness, and success remind us why we started this journey.

We are proud of what we’ve built in our first year and grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. We look forward to many more years of providing quality care and making a difference in the lives of those we serve. ❤️🏡✨ by @startyourarf

God is GOOD 🙌🏽

May 2024 I secured a house that I’d use to apply and get licensed to help developmentally disabled individuals. When I tell you the application itself was over 150 pages . So many days and nights i felt overwhelmed, it was soooo hard ! If you are familiar with the process you know it can take a year if not longer . I questioned myself many times like is this too much for me? But I knew I had to keep going. I did have a good support system that pushed me and reminded me that “we got this “ .

I am now officially the owner of a LICENSED adult residential facility (ARF) 🏠‼️
This is only the beginning !
This has not been easy AT ALL , but I do want to thank my family for letting me cry to them and them reminding me you got this netty , one of my closest friends who is in this field who lended her time and expertise , and most importantly my fiancée (also my business partner ) who has been by my side supporting me the entire time .

So many courses were taken , fire inspections , facility inspections , application corrections , had to fully furnish a home and stock it with food, linen, emergency supplies you name it I had to have it while the house has been completely empty (no clients ) so much money put out … A LOT LOL … knowing that one day it will all be worth it ❤️

After months of waiting and corrections and do this do that do this and analyst who goes on vacations with my application sitting on their desk and meanwhile I had to simply just “be patient “ we are officially LICENSED in 5 months !!!! But this idea didn’t spark just 5 months ago I have talked about opening a home for years ! But never executed it .. never took the leap … but one day I did , we did … and look at us now !!!!
I stayed focused. I stopped spending money on material things and put money into my business. I stayed quiet and dedicated until I executed my goal !
I am BEYOND proud of myself , I’m happy , I’m shocked still that it’s official and I’m excited to go on this journey of helping others . by @startyourarf
