The talented forward joins the club from Swiss NLB side BC Bären Kleinbasel and will become a full member of the Starwings’ Swiss Basketball League (SBL) roster.The 19-year-old Basel native is regarded as one of the region’s most promising young talents. He began his basketball career with BC Bären Kleinbasel, where he has developed steadily over the past several years. Starwings Sign Swiss U20 International Zachary BikuStarwings Basket have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season by signing Swiss U20 national team player Zachary Biku. The 21-year-old forward (202 cm, capable of playing both the 3 and 4 positions) joins the club from BBC Monthey-Chablais and will wear the Starwings jersey next season.The 2.02-meter athlete began playing basketball at the age of 14 with Grand-Saconnex Basketball Club. After a first season that was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic, he moved to Veyrier Salève Basket, where he continued his development under coach Michael Delaville. During his second season in Veyrier, he earned a place at the Genève Basketball Académie, taking an important step forward in his basketball journey.Biku then gained valuable international experience in France with the historic club Denain Voltaire, where he competed both in the French U18 Championship and with the club’s Pro B development team. Upon returning to Switzerland, he spent two seasons with the Lions de Genève, playing in both the National League B and the Swiss Basketball League. Most recently, he suited up for BBC Monthey-Chablais in Switzerland’s top division.In Monthey, Biku established himself as an important rotation player, impressing with his energy, rebounding ability (5.3 rebounds per game), and defensive presence. He has also made a name for himself on the international stage. At the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket Division B, he was one of the key contributors for the Swiss national team, averaging 13.8 points and 7 rebounds per game. 🚨 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧 🚨Après trois saisons au Centre National, l’ailier Kamary Diakite s’offre un nouveau défi et quitte le CNBS pour s’engager avec les Starwings !Freiné par une blessure durant une partie de la saison, le Suisse a tout de même répondu présent avec 15 points de moyenne en saison régulière, avant de monter à près de 19 points par match en playoffs !Considéré comme l’un des plus gros talents du pays, il aurait pu s’exporter à l’étranger mais a finalement choisi de poursuivre sa progression en Suisse, en passant de la NLB à la SBL.Il rejoint les demi-finalistes de la saison passée avec l’ambition de continuer à franchir des paliers et d’aider les Bâlois à rester dans le haut du tableau. Starwings Basket Sign Promising Young Talent Kamary DiakitéStarwings Basket are pleased to announce the signing of Kamary Diakité (19) for the upcoming season.The 2.03-meter-tall forward joins the club from CNBS (Centre National du Basket Suisse). CNBS is the Swiss Basketball Federation’s national development team, providing talented young Swiss players with optimal training and development opportunities while competing in the Swiss National League B.Diakité previously played for Hünibasket during the 2022/23 season before joining Rising Stars Bern and then the CNBS national development program ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. An athletic player capable of playing both the small forward (3) and power forward (4) positions, he stands out for his explosiveness, speed, and exceptional leaping ability.As a Swiss youth international, Kamary Diakité is regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation.
