GOOD MORNING 🌅 It is a DARK 🌚 and EARLY 🐓 morning for your favorite bass line 😘 But don’t worry 😅 Getting up at the CRACK 😹 of DAWN 🌇 is worth it if iy means we get to practice for a PEAK 🌋 performance 👁️ and you know what else is peak 🤯 the WIZARD 🧙‍♂️ of off-beats 🎧 Sean Skaff Member Stats: Name: Sean Skaff Year: Freshman 🥚 Instrument: Bass 4️⃣ Experience: 8️⃣ Favorite Movement: Lord of the Rings 💍 Major/Minor: Aerospace Engineering 🛩️ AND a minor in Chinese 🇨🇳 If Sean was attacked by a mountaineer 🐐, he would “steal their hiking supplies and shove em off dat mountain #whatsamountaineer” 🥾🎒🛘🫸🤸 Sean is the youngest 🍼 person on the line but make no mistake 🚫 he did NOT come here to play 🧸 He is also the sleepiest on the line 😴 While the basses were up rehearsing 🎼 he was snuggled up in his blankets 🛌 Sean has been bringing the game day 🏈 HYPE 🤪 and WISDOM 🧠 with his inspirational ✨ Chinese proverbs 📖 (行百里者半九十) 🗣️ Sean has many surprises 😱 one of which is his love for woobles 🧶 Additionally, Sean has a fear of any 🐞 and 🐛 ALL 🪲 insects 🕷️ INCLUDING 🪳 butterflies 🦋 but speaking of things with WINGS 🪽 the bass line is ready to fly 🦅 (NOT RUSH 🏃💨) through some splits 🖖 that would strike fear 🗡️ into the heart ❤️‍🔥 of Sauron himself by @state_bass

WHAT IS 🆙 (the sky 🏙️) I’m feeling FREE as a BIRD 🕊️ right now so It’s time ⏲️ for the THIRD ☘️ home game of the season and the THIRD ☝️✌️ meet-the-member for the THIRD 3️⃣ bass drummer on the line 🥰 and THE runner of the state_bass account 🏃‍♀️💨 Stefi Olsen 👑 and to prevent bias 🙅‍♀️ this post has a ghost writer 👻 Member Stats: Name: Stefi Olsen Year: Sophomore 🐣 Instrument: Bass 3️⃣ Experience: 5️⃣ Favorite Movement: Free Bird (duh) 🎸 Major/Minor: Biology 💉 AND a minor in Spanish 🇪🇸 If Stefi was attacked by a red-tailed hawk 🔴, she would “cook it up 🍗 so that bass line can get some extra protein in on gameday” 😘 As previously introduced 👀 the blonde 👱‍♀️ (suspiciously not red headed 👩‍🦰) step child of the line takes up the heavy 💪 mantle of BASS 3️⃣ for the ❤️💛 ISUCF’V’MB ❤️💛 this season 🧂 That’s right folks 👍 this is the largest 🫈 drum she’s ever played 😱 This heavy burden has had some effects ✨ this year as she continues to 🥭 discover 🥝 new 🍊fruits 🍉 to 🍎 become 🍇 allergic 🍓 to (🍌🍒❌) Not to worry of course 🤷‍♀️ as Stefi is treated to world class cuisine 🍛 by her private chef 👩‍🍳(when the refrigerators 🥶are working at least) 🧊 As our resident pre-med 👩‍⚕️ this is the year of the MCAT for her 😰 and this week’s practice field 🐖 has certainly been doing its best to give her more case studies 🦠 But never fear! 😀 The Iowa State Bassline always fights 🥊—or slips 🛝—through to deliver 📦 you some tasty free range birds 🦅, or of course I mean, tasty beats 😋 by @state_bass

Greetings 🖖👽 It’s time ⌛️ for the SECOND ✌️ game of the season and the SECOND 🥈 meet-the-member for the SECOND 2️⃣ bass drummer on the line 😝 AND our lovely 🥰 guide 🧭 Matt Morgan 😁 Member Stats: Name: Matt Morgan Year: Senior 🐓 Instrument: Bass 2️⃣ Experience on Bass: 3️⃣ Favorite Movement: SPACE OPENER ✨ Major/Minor: Software Engineering 🧑‍💻 AND a minor in AI 🤖 If Matt found a falcon 🦅 in the wild, he would “bite its head off” 🍽️ I guess he’s hungry for victory 🏆 Hometown: Aurora, Illinois 🌌 As I previously mentioned 🎤 Matt is our guide 🗺️ for this season 🧂 and what a fantastic guide he has been 😇 some might even see him as a father figure 🧍‍♂️and absolutely NO SHENANIGANS 🙅‍♀️ have taken place under his watchful eyes 👀 Matt is well-known amongst the band ❤️💛 as THE CREATOR 🌎 of I AM ETHAN KELLOGGGGG 🗣️ but some lesser 🤏 known things about him are that he made his own robot arm 🦾 he has an AI assistant named Vera he created to do all the menial tasks he doesn’t want to do 🦿 AND he has a place in his house called the “monkey room” 🐒 but he doesn’t monkey around 🙊 when it comes to playing a clean ‘e’ and ‘a’ 🛸 and even though the practice field this past week felt like a jungle 🌴 ISU bass line is ready to play some beats with perfect SPACE-ing 🌠 by @state_bass

Howdy y’all! 🤠Who’s ready for the FIRST ☝️ game of the season and the FIRST 🥇 meet-the-member for the FIRST 1️⃣ bass drummer on the line 🙋‍♀️ Without further ado, it’s time to meet Peter Gingerich 🥳 Member Stats: Name: Peter Gingerich Year: Junior 🐥 Instrument: Bass 1️⃣ Experience on Bass: 3️⃣ Favorite Movement: Save Me, because what’s BETTER (Now) than a first cyclone marching band closer 🤷‍♀️ Major/Minor: Materials Engineering ♺ AND a minor in Spanish 🇪🇸 If Peter encountered a wild Redhawk 🔴, he would “first, slowly approach it to gain its respect, this is an issue due to it being a RED hawk 🚨 so my stunning blue eyes 🥶 cause me to be a natural enemy. Once I have dropped on my stomach to its level (to be on common ground) 🕳️ we form a bond 🤞after which I can grab its legs and soar 🦅 down from the press box to the field like a paraglider after we win our 6th game to become bowl 🥣 eligible.” KNOCK. WOOD. ✊ 🪵 Hometown: Eau Claire, Wisconsin 🧀 If you recall 🤔 Peter’s meet-the-member from last season on the @state_stormline Instagram (shoutout 🗣️), you may notice that Peter’s experience on bass jumped from 0️⃣ to 3️⃣ Well, that’s because Peter was bass 2️⃣ on STORM 🌀, then bass 5️⃣ on Minnesota Brass Indoor 🏔️, THEN bass 5️⃣ on Seattle Cascades 🌄 HOWEVER he has finally broken free ⛓️‍💥 from bottom ⬇️ bass jail 👮‍♂️and is now bass 1️⃣ for the ❤️💛 ISUCF’V’MB ❤️💛 With so much experience, Peter has been hitting 🤙 some CRISP 🍂 shots in the hopes 🙏 of ushering in the fall weather 🍁 and hopefully he succeeds because this past week 🗓️ has been HOT 🥵 But speaking of hot ☀️ ISU bass line is ready to lay down some HEAT 🔥 at this week’s halftime show 🫡 by @state_bass

Dear members of cyclone nation 😔😔. The last couple weeks have truly been a rollercoaster🎢🎢. We’ve shared many ups📈 and downs📉, twists and turns🌪️, swirls and loop de loops🙃. But we still sit here together, united as one true cyclone state❤️💛. As we celebrate our season with a great banquet🎉🎉, we must say goodbyes😢😢, but most importantly we say our final hellos as we MEET THE MEMBERS!!!!! Today’s member is a no stranger to rollercoasters🎢🎢. He worked several years at the greatest amusement park in the midwest, 🎊ADVENTURELAND🎊! His vast knowledge of rides has no equal😤😤. He is always ready in every line with a fun fact about the ride and its history. He now studies mechanical engineering⚙️⚙️ in the hopes to one day make a ride🎢🎢 so impressive it rivals the infamous Phineas and Ferb. Ladies and Gentleman, yesterday was a very special Cyclone Gameday❤️💛. It was our last day😢😢 in the Jack🏟️🏟️this season, and we celebrated Senior Day in typical drumline🥁🥁fashion with a BIG FAT W🏆🏆🏆!!! We are only 1️⃣ more win away from escaping the dreaded Liberty Bowl 🙀🙀. Though it was our last time in the Jack🏟️🏟️, there’s still a lotta football left ⏱️⏱️ and we got more members to meet! Today’s member is beloved across the whole band❤️💛❤️. She always makes sure everyone’s having a great time🥳🥳 and playing at their very best🎼🎶(especially the guide🙊🙊) As the esteemed president of GROOVE Drumline Club😱😱she rules with an iron fist💪💪! Clean beats🧼🧼and good vibes😎😎are mandatory when she’s at the helm. He’s always there to give you a fun fact when you ask for one (and when you don’t👀👀). It may be his first🥇year with us, but he’s no rookie👶👶. Alex is a TWO YEAR vet of ⚡️⚡️STATE STORM!!⚡️⚡️He’s also a proud😤😤member of the Iowa State Singers🎶🎵🎤 and an Accounting💰💵💰 double major. Ladies and Gentleman🎩, Boys👦 and Girls👧, we may not have a home game today, but that doesn’t stop us from laying down some sick beat‼️🥁 After our BOOMINGGG exhibition performance at Valleyfest, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the man with the smallest drum on the line👶. But don’t worry, what he lacks in size, he makes up for in execution😧You’ve never heard a cleaner bass drum triplet roll than this man right here. When he’s not diddling til his fingers fall off, he’s giving Tony Stark a run for his money. WHATS UP CYCLONE NATIOOOON🌪️🌪️🌪️!!! It’s Gameday here at Jack Trice Stadium, but before our Cyclones🏈🏈 beat the Wildcats🤢🤢 we need to introduce our first new member of this years VARSITY Bass Line. We have a transfer portal ↔️↔️ pickup today from @statecyms, Em Raleigh. She decided to the BIGGEST💪💪, the LOUDEST📢📢, and the BOOMIEST💥💥section in the band was the perfect place for her to be, and we couldn’t agree more ❤️💛❤️💛. Check her out today rocking the hefty 28” Bass 6. Outside of marching band, you can see her onstage 🎬🎬 at the most respected theatres🎭🎭 in town. She doesn’t just act, she keeps the whole show afloat as their Props Designer 🤯🤯. Dear @henry.shires , @henrywolgamuth , and @gavin.d.fisher, In honor of your last college football game, bowl, and WIN we wanted to with you all a fair well. We have all laughed, cried, felt our happiest, lowest, and everything in between together. We’ve even won many games, gone on crazy trips, and hit many records (this can be attributed to the all time transfer student Morgan for her lucky charm and go state energy)! Because of all that we have experienced we became family❤️ We can’t believe that you’re leaving the four of us for like professional jobs or whatever. You are now gonna forever live in our memory and will always be mentioned in conversations such as “he’s in there taking a Shires”, “remember that giant hole Gavin put in his head”, or “you have to shave your head at the bowl game…Wolgamuth did it”. You will forever leave a hole in our hearts and on the line. You all will be missed and HAVE to come back for alumni band!! We love you guys - State Bass by @state_bass
