The moment I laid eyes on Thumper I knew he’d break my heart. He was the best little soldier there ever was.

On Monday May 18th, our sweet Thumper passed away unexpectedly after a tumor ruptured in his spleen and caused internal bleeding. Despite 2 MRI’s, 4 ultrasounds, and extensive bloodwork, we sadly could not detect an undetectable cancer. It was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced, but I’m grateful that the three of us were together and he died on his favorite blanket, enveloped in love.

Jon found Thumper in 2012 in Afghanistan’s Zabul Province, in the motor pool of a Romanian base. After a lot of work by @puppyrescuemission, friends, and family, and a dash of luck, Thumper made it to Tennessee and began his new life.

He was the best example of positive masculinity - a fierce protector, but gentle and loving. He taught us about loyalty and the meaning of love, how to care for someone, and the importance of being present.

He comforted us throughout PTSD, near bankruptcy, layoffs, and health problems, and there were times when we weren’t sure we would make it, but I stayed because I couldn’t leave Thumper, my sweet boy.

He bought us the time we needed to do the work, and we’re a family today because of him. After ten years together, Jon and I married in March and we don’t think it’s a coincidence that Thumper held on until we committed for life before departing.

You can rest now, bud. We love you and we will spend the rest of our lives looking for you in every bush and under every tree.

Thank you for your service, mission complete. by @stateofkait

3.19.26. Our wedding, captured on film by the incredible @laurenjanestudio. These are the raw, unedited photos and some of them were shot on Laurie’s Dad’s camera from the 70’s.

Laurie has an amazing eco-friendly activewear line inspired by California in the 70’s. Her designs are SO fun, and you can check them out at @laurelcanyontennisclub.

Feeling very grateful 🩵

Don’t ask me to make plans for the next 4 weeks unless you’re coming to my house! 🐶

The lovely Kara from @petseyeview offered a free reading for Luna to work on her fear. It was not only insightful, but the next day, Luna let me pet her! 🤯

I’ve purchased readings from Kara in the past for Thumper and I wholeheartedly trust her.

Thanks Kara for helping our girl!! She’s thriving and getting more brave every day 🥹 by @stateofkait

On Friday the puppies opened their eyes, and yesterday on 9/28 they turned 3 weeks old!

We’ve had four days of absolute bliss watching the puppies discover the world and start to play with each other. What a gift to witness.

The @danessamyricksbeauty 4D Plumping Glosses really are fabulous and it made my week to receive the whole line in PR!

Texture: They’re smooth and buttery without feeling slippery or messy. They’re in between thick and thin, and have a subtle vanilla mint scent.

Finish: super glossy and line-smoothing

Pigment: medum

Experience: I really like the metal applicator, the shade range, and how my lips feel when the product wears off.

They’re $26 each - (affiliate): https://go.shopmy.us/p-90108159

Fostering four newborn puppies and their 9-month old, shut down postpartum mama is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done, but also the hardest.

So many people are DMjng me that they want to try fostering, so I wanted to make sure I’m not just showing the highlights. It’s a LOT of work, and you never know what kind of dog you’re going to get. Luna happened to be scared, shut down, and completely untrained - not potty trained, not leash trained, and not socialized.

I’ve got a lot of work on my hands but it’s the best kind of work ever!!

Two weeks of patience and Luna finally let us pet her!! Now she wants all the snuggles and her playful puppy side is starting to come out. 🥹

Can’t wait to see the rest of her transformation.
