🏈 STATE TO STAGE: NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 7 RECAP 🏈

October 17, 2026, reminded everybody that rankings don’t win games execution does. Florida went into Austin and stunned No. 7 Texas, 27–24, delivering one of the biggest upsets of the day. Ohio State survived a heavyweight battle against undefeated No. 5 Indiana, winning 19–15, while LSU made a statement with a dominant 31–0 shutout of Mississippi State. Northwestern gave us one of the wildest finishes, rallying past Michigan State 24–21 with a game-winning field goal in the final seconds. SMU also handled Virginia, 23–13. Different games, different stories, but one common lesson: every possession matters, every mistake can change a season, and no team is safe just because its name is higher in the rankings. State To Stage — Syracuse to the World. We cover the game, the players, the pressure and the moments that define the season. 🏆

🏀 STATE TO STAGE: KYRONN SHORTER | NOTTINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL

Syracuse basketball has another young prospect worth keeping an eye on! KyRonn Shorter, a member of the Class of 2030 at Nottingham High School, is a 6’4” forward with promising physical tools and room to continue developing his game.

Shorter recently earned recognition in New England Recruiting Report’s coverage of the 2026 Upstate Frosh/Soph event. Evaluators highlighted his ability to finish above the rim, his athleticism in the lane, his activity on the boards, and the energy he brings to the floor. Those are encouraging qualities for a young forward still growing into his frame and learning how to maximize his potential.

At this stage, continued development, consistency, and learning to impact both ends of the floor will be important. With his size and athletic ability, Shorter is a name for Central New York basketball fans to follow as his high school career progresses.

Everybody wanna talk sports, but not everybody is willing to PUT IN THE WORK to create something for the athletes. 💯📈

I’m doing more for my sports creation than a lot of people who claim they’re doing the same thing. With DCO ENTERPRISES and State To Stage, I’m building a platform to give athletes a voice, highlight their performances, break down games, recognize talent, and help put names on the map that deserve more attention. From Central New York to athletes across the country, the mission is bigger than views.

MY NUMBERS DON’T LIE. THE CONTENT SPEAKS. THE CONSISTENCY SPEAKS. THE WORK SPEAKS. 📊🎥

I’m not waiting for somebody to give me permission to build something. I’m creating opportunities, networking, researching players, covering teams, and putting real time into this sports media vision. I’m not saying I’m above anybody. I’m saying I know what I’m putting into this, and the results are part of the conversation.

This is bigger than a post or a few views. This is about building a real platform, creating opportunities, and giving athletes the exposure they deserve. While people worry about who’s doing what, I’m focused on making State To Stage something that speaks for itself.

DCO ENTERPRISES. STATE TO STAGE. SYRACUSE TO THE WORLD. 🌎🏀🏈

Let the numbers talk. Let the work show. I’m just getting started. 💚📈

🏈 STATE TO STAGE: CALEB ROBERT — MEXICO TIGERS RUNNING BACK SPOTLIGHT!

Central New York football deserves its recognition, and Caleb Robert of Mexico High School is one of the young athletes to keep an eye on. Listed as a sophomore on Mexico’s 2025–26 varsity roster, Robert stands at 6-foot-0 and wears No. 5. He’s part of a Mexico Tigers program competing in Section III, where every game is an opportunity for young players to develop their skills and make their names known.

As a running back, the spotlight is on his ability to find running lanes, read blocks, accelerate through openings, and finish runs with physicality. Continued development in ball security, vision, and explosiveness will be important as he works to establish himself at the varsity level.

Mexico has shown it can put points on the board, including a 79–28 win over Jamesville-DeWitt on October 8, 2026. The Tigers’ team success provides a platform for players to continue developing and competing. The next step for this spotlight is getting verified rushing yards, touchdowns, and game-by-game production to measure Robert’s individual impact.

STATE TO STAGE TAKEAWAY: The mission is to give Central New York athletes their flowers and follow their journeys beyond the scoreboard. Caleb Robert is a young player to watch as his football story continues to unfold. We want the stats, the film, the work ethic, and the progress — because every athlete deserves a chance to have their story told.

🏀 STATE TO STAGE: HASSAN KOUREISSI — NEW YORK TO THE BRONX!

From Archbishop Stepinac to Fordham University, Hassan Koureissi is taking the next step in his basketball journey, bringing his guard skills and high-level experience to the Division I stage. A three-star recruit in the 2026 class, Koureissi committed to Fordham in September 2025, choosing the Rams after attracting interest from multiple college programs.

During his junior season at Stepinac, Koureissi averaged 11.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 48.6% from the field. Those numbers reflect a guard who can contribute beyond scoring, with rebounding, playmaking, and defensive activity all part of his game.

One of the biggest storylines heading into his college career is his ability to run the offense. Koureissi has highlighted his pace, communication, and basketball IQ as strengths that fit Fordham head coach Mike Magpayo’s vision. Now the challenge is adjusting to the speed and physicality of college basketball while earning his role in the Rams’ rotation.

STATE TO STAGE TAKEAWAY: Hassan Koureissi is another New York talent taking his game to the next level. The focus now is development, consistency, and making every opportunity count. From Stepinac to Fordham, the next chapter is here!

🏀 STATE TO STAGE: TYRAN STOKES — KANSAS HAS A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF ENERGY COMING!

Kansas landed the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, and Tyran Stokes is walking into Lawrence with the talent and expectations to make an immediate impact. At 6-foot-8, Stokes brings a powerful combination of size, athleticism, playmaking, and downhill scoring that makes him a difficult matchup. During his final high school season at Rainier Beach, he averaged an incredible 31.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 4.0 steals per game, leading his team to a 29–1 record and a Washington 3A state championship. Those numbers show a player who can impact the game on both ends of the floor.

What makes his Kansas fit especially interesting is his approach to leadership. At Kansas media day, Stokes discussed growing into a true leader and becoming the kind of player head coach Bill Self expects him to be. He has also emphasized getting his teammates involved early, showing that his game is not just about putting up points. With Kansas recognizing him as the 2026–27 Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year, the spotlight is already on him before the regular season begins. The next challenge is translating that high school dominance into consistent college production against experienced competition.

STATE TO STAGE TAKEAWAY: The talent is undeniable, but the real story is how Stokes handles the pressure, elevates his teammates, and develops into a complete college player. Kansas has a potential difference-maker in its freshman class. Now it’s time to see that energy translate when the games count. The road to the next level starts here. 🌟

🏀 STATE TO STAGE | SAN ANTONIO SPURS: THE NEXT STEP TOWARD A CHAMPIONSHIP!

The San Antonio Spurs are entering the 2026–27 NBA season with unfinished business after reaching the NBA Finals last season and falling short against the New York Knicks. Now, the question is whether Victor Wembanyama and this young core can take another step forward and turn that championship experience into a title run. Wemby continues to develop every year, and after earning Defensive Player of the Year honors last season, the expectations are even higher. His ability to protect the rim, stretch the floor, score from different areas, and create matchup nightmares makes him one of the most unique talents in basketball. But this isn’t just about Wembanyama! De’Aaron Fox brings veteran scoring and playmaking, Stephon Castle continues to develop into a two-way force, and Dylan Harper gives San Antonio another young guard with tremendous upside. The biggest challenge will be building chemistry, improving late-game execution, staying healthy, and figuring out how to maximize all that backcourt talent. The Spurs have already shown they can compete at the highest level, but now they must prove last season wasn’t their peak. If Wemby takes another leap and the supporting cast continues to grow, San Antonio has a legitimate opportunity to make another deep playoff run and compete for an NBA championship! The West won’t make it easy, but the Spurs have the talent, experience, and young foundation to make some noise.

🎙️ SHORT FORM SPORTS × STATE TO STAGE | BEN SIMMONS IS SHOOTING AGAIN!

Ben Simmons is giving basketball fans something they haven’t seen enough of in recent years — confidence in his offensive game! 🏀🔥 After sitting out the entire 2025–26 season while dealing with injuries, Simmons is back on the floor with the Sacramento Kings, and his preseason debut gave fans a reason to pay attention. He finished with 7 points and 1 assist in just 9 minutes against the Golden State Warriors, shooting 2-for-4 from the field and 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. The biggest moment? Simmons confidently knocking down a step-back mid-range jumper. <Cite refs={[“turn701750search0”,“turn701750search3”]}/>

Let’s talk about the mental side of this comeback. For years, Simmons has faced criticism over his jump shot, his reluctance to shoot, and the pressure that comes with being a former No. 1 overall pick and three-time NBA All-Star. But sometimes, getting your confidence back starts with being healthy, trusting your body, and not being afraid to make mistakes. Simmons has spoken about feeling healthier, playing more aggressively, and seeing the game slow down as he’s gained experience. <Cite refs={[“turn701750search2”,“turn701750search3”]}/>

THE BIG QUESTION: Can Sacramento help Ben Simmons rediscover his best basketball? He doesn’t have to become a 25-point scorer or an elite three-point shooter overnight. His size, passing, transition play, rebounding, and defense already give him ways to impact winning. But if he’s willing to take open jumpers and keep defenders honest, that could open up even more opportunities for him and his teammates.

STATE TO STAGE TAKE: Sometimes the biggest comeback isn’t about proving everybody wrong — it’s about believing in yourself again. Simmons is taking the shots, embracing the opportunity, and showing signs of renewed confidence. It’s only preseason, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves, but this is absolutely a storyline worth watching! 👀🔥

What’s your take: Is Ben Simmons really getting his confidence back, or do you need to see it over a full season?

STATE TO STAGE TAKE 🎙️🔥

Tyler Herro in Milwaukee could be a very interesting fit! 🦌 Herro is coming off an All-Star season in which he averaged 20.5 points per game, and now he’s entering a new chapter with the Bucks. Through his first three preseason appearances, he’s averaging 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in about 21.6 minutes per game.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo now in Miami following the blockbuster trade, Milwaukee needs Herro to step into a bigger leadership role and become a reliable go-to scorer. His shooting, confidence, and ability to create his own offense give this team something to build around. The biggest question is whether he can handle the added defensive attention and help establish a winning identity in Milwaukee.

My take? Herro has the offensive talent to thrive here. If the Bucks build the right supporting cast around him and he stays healthy, this could be an opportunity for him to take another step as a leader in the NBA. 👀🏀

STATE TO STAGE | PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: MARCUS BRISTER

Before making his mark at the collegiate level, Marcus Brister was developing his game at Duncanville High School in Texas. Standing 6’3”, Brister was a talented point guard whose combination of size, court vision, and playmaking ability helped him stand out as a prospect. During his junior season at Duncanville, he averaged 18 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, helping lead his team to a 24–10 record and a No. 2 ranking in Class 5A. After his high school career, Brister continued developing at God’s Academy Prep School before moving on to collegiate basketball at Iowa State and Southeast Missouri State. His journey is a reminder that development, determination, and the ability to create opportunities for teammates can open doors to the next level.
