#TIFF2022 🎬 an independent film production company focused on bringing unique world cinema to Canada 🇨🇦

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The highly anticipated feature debut from Canadian filmmaker @_9knee, @thisplacefilm, will make its world premiere tonight! I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this beautiful movie as a Producer at @station_369.

And, yes, it's true! 'This Place' is also my acting debut film in Canada. Many of you may not know this, but acting is a passion of mine. So, I feel even more humbled and honoured that my debut film in Canada includes a meaningful project that tells the story of underrepresented communities. Shout out to @sai_r and @elayabi for introducing me to this project. I will forever be grateful!

If you get the chance, I highly encourage you to support this women-led film. Check out the film, and let me know what you think.

It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the highly anticipated feature debut, @thisplacefilm, which will be making its world premiere this week at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival (@tiff_net) is partly executive produced by @muraly5, Producer at station 369! We are especially grateful that as our first independent film in Canada, we were able to collaborate with a cast and crew led by talented women of colour to shed light on a very powerful story.

“This Place” tells the story of two young women - one half-Iranian, half-Mohawk and the other Tamil - who find themselves falling in love for the first time, while also being forced to confront their families, each complicated by legacies of loss, migration, and displacement. The film intimately explores the stories of those living in the liminal space between cultures, displaced both at home and abroad.

Stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime, if you’re interested in learning more about the film, visit the official TIFF2022 website for more info. Link in bio!
