Andy Lealand - Partisans guitarist and bassist on Time Was Right Album. My mission is to post Partisans only bass and guitar tutorials ! Woohoo !

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Tales From Wales Episode ! 1970’s
Pre punk years I was mainly into Marc Bolan, David Bowie, Slade and Gary Glitter.
Unfortunately Gary Glitter turned out to be a Chomo (Child Molesta) and was busted in the 1990’s.
As a little historical point regarding Gary Glitter thats almost taboo to mention these days he had quite an influence on many of the early punk bands and
although his hay day (peak of fame and success) was around 1972/73 he did become popular with some of the UK 82 punks along with Bolan (There was no scene called UK 82 at the time as far as I recall). In 1984 I was living in London and frequented the Bat Cave (when it was based in Gossips, Soho I think) and also Alice In Wonderland the psychedelic club, good times, anyway along with a drunken Joe Strummer lurking about Gary Glitter use to turn up now and again with a young punkette or two. #glamrock #garyglitter #punkhistory by @staybassed77

In 2022 I had a “low key” project called Section7x, long story… and being an old punk rocker I wanted to create something similar to Sigue Sigue Sputnik with lots of tape delay on vocals and sequenced synth lines. At the time of writing Monsieur Macron was getting on my nerves as do practically all politicians So yes nice to see students in France “Pissing him off ” Vive Le France ! #france #studentprotests #macron by @staybassed77

Found this extremely rare interview from 2001 on my hard disk of my goodself explaining why I formed a band way back in 1977/78 ! For those of you that don’t know Rugby Union is Wales’s national game and as the old cliche in England amongst most musicians is often ”it was football or music” for me although moving from England to Wales when I was 10 years old it became ”Rugby or Music” and other cliches ;) Thanks to Fernet Film. #punkrock #thepartisans #fernetfilm by @staybassed77

Just a quick effort; I’m not going to have much time to work on these tutorials for a week or two at least.
This is the demo version of I Don’t Give A Fuck (Anarchy In Alcatraz Demo Lp) which is played different from the Album Version.
It was one of the first ever songs I wrote (music only) at the age of 16 or something. I wanted to write something in the spirit of the UK Subs.
I separated the stems to include drums and vocals to spice it up a bit. The notes are D A C B A in verse and G A G# in chorus.

The Partisans played Zikenstock Festival in May of this year along with The Exploited and The Oppressed. We did a gig with The Oppressed way back in 1980/ish. I caught up with the guitarist Ducky backstage, nice bloke !
