Salt coffee in the mornings. A new haircut. Lanterns, palm trees and a sunset over Ha Long Bay.
I’m traveling solo for a few weeks, and some days it still surprises me that this is my life. But none of it happens on my own. My husband and boys are back home cheering me on, holding things down, and genuinely excited for me to go.
That kind of support isn’t something I take for granted. It’s what makes the whole thing possible. ☀️🇻🇳

I paid $47 for a 2-hour keratin treatment and haircut at Nhật Tâm Hair Salon in Hải Phòng.

I had no idea a keratin treatment was that involved. I thought they’d just wash my hair with some special shampoo. Two hours later, I got my education.

We always try to get our haircuts in Asia because it’s so much more affordable than in the US. Do you ever get beauty treatments when you travel? Would you try this one in Vietnam?

Seventeen years ago, a road trip in India filled me with dread. Rough roads, hours of bouncing around, and almost no clean places to stop. You planned your water intake around the bathrooms, or the lack of them.
This week I drove from Jaipur to Delhi on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and honestly couldn’t believe it. Smooth, open road, real rest stops, clean bathrooms and decent coffee. It’s one of the most impressive changes I’ve seen in India.

Didn’t expect my IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Udaipur to be a propeller plane where they load the luggage through the front. Fun fact: on these planes the bags ride up front and the passengers board from the back. Have you flown on one?
