Sure don’t know what I’m going for. But, I’m gonna go for it for sure. ⚡️
POSTS STORIES REELS
A remote atoll in French Polynesia with a population of just 500 people, where coconut farming (copra) is the primary industry, there’s barely a market, one flight a week into@the teeny airport, and life moves at a wonderfully different pace. Six women, all @castingforrecovery volunteers. The only tourists on the island. And quite possibly the first all-women’s fly fishing expedition to Anaa! Huge bonefish by morning, crazy reef fish by afternoon, blacktip sharks always at your feet, and 23 different species caught between the six of us. Some incredible fishing, but honestly, the people and culture made this place even more special. Our wonderful hosts, Flo and Pierre, the amazing local guides, and the kindness of this little community made us feel so welcome. We stayed at Flo and Pierre’s house and had local fare of poisson cru, sashimi, and lobster and wonderfully delicious French pastries and Flo’s homemade vanilla yogurt. It was a discovery everyday. Hiking 3 to 5 miles on endless flats, turquoise water like I’ve never seen, ukuleles and spoon playing, lots of laughter, and a place that feels a world away from everything. Still pinching myself that we got to experience it. Thanks to our Captain @kdufly for bringing us together. Buy the ticket. Take the ride. @flyodyssey.us @flyodyssey by @stbenham

Go get ‘em Toby. Big great things ahead as you start the next big adventure at the University of Colorado! So proud of you. Keep making good choices. I’m not crying, you’re crying. by @stbenham
Calling myself a forever student these days. This summer’s assignment: teaching myself how to shoot and edit reels — a whole new visual language. Posting this one feels vulnerable. It’s my first reel out into the world, clunky edges and all, but I’m a big believer that staying curious means being willing to be a beginner again, even mid-career, even when it’s uncomfortable. Every summer, I volunteer with Casting for Recovery Colorado — a program that offers women who’ve had breast cancer a weekend retreat centered around fly fishing, connection, and rest, at no cost to them. I’ve had the honor of photographing these retreats for a while now, and learning to tell those stories in motion, not just stills, feels like a natural next step. There’s something grounding about learning a new skill — it reminds me why I fell in love with this work in the first place. Always learning, always curious. That’s the whole point. If you have favorite YouTube tutorials on reels — shooting, editing, pacing, whatever helped you — send them my way. I’ll take all the recommendations I can get. . . #flyfishing #castingforrecovery #coloradosummer #bouldercolorado by @stbenham
Great weekend with the fellas delivering the @castingforrecovery Jane drift boat back to the Gallatin Valley, where she’ll spend the summer with @damsel_fly_fishing_ 🎣 We rowed 12 miles of the beautiful Big Hole River, and it was such a treat for me to row a boat that means so much to me and get my boys into fish along the way. Only got stuck once… haha. See @orosfishing for proof. 🎣 Big thanks to our @orosfishing fam, Patrick, Teri, and Katherine for always taking such good care of us. The best bobbers and the best people. 🎣 The Jane is more than a drift boat. She’s a floating tribute to the women who inspire us, fight beside us, and remind us what strength looks like. Book a trip on the Jane and honor a woman you love. 💕 by @stbenham
Big week celebrating Toby and Rory Benham. Toby wrapped up his time at Boulder High School and is headed to CU Boulder this fall. Go Buffs 💛 Rory is starting high school in the fall. So proud of these guys, the friendship they share, and the way they always show up for each other and the people they love. On to big things ahead. Like Polly says, keep making good choices. 💜 by @stbenham
Happy Holidays from the Benhams. 🎄 2025 kicked off with a very special addition to our family. We welcomed Betty White Benham, our foster fail from our very first foster litter. Jim was the one who chose her, and the friendship they’ve formed has been pure joy to watch for all. As usual, the themes of the year were lacrosse goalie life, fly fishing, and the Buffs. A major highlight was Toby’s acceptance to carry on the University of Colorado Boulder legacy next year as a student, Sko Toby Sko Buffs 🦬! Brian stayed busy guiding at @northforkranchguideservice and hosting trips with @travelcreel , combining great food, great water, and great company. 🎣 Rory is wrapping up 8th grade and enjoying Club lacrosse as a goalie. For me, a standout moment was producing a short film called Carried By the Current for @castingforrecovery , starring incredible women @karmano @wwmcdowell @damsel_fly_fishing_ and created by an all star team @nate_dodge @shanefarns @thewildwithian @kohannaa @blakeleydunn . The film premieres on the @flyfishingfilmtour in just a few weeks, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. We’re ending the year on a happy note after finding homes for our latest foster puppies from @mountainpetrescue . The Apple Litter girls were truly a highlight. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a wonderful year ahead. ⭐️ 🎄 by @stbenham
