We’re taking a look back to last month’s #HowardHomecoming closeout event, Kegs & Eggs VII @kegsandeggshu 🍻🍳. Hear from the organizers @nessthehandsome of @soulmegadc and @g2esquire of @certified.official + @stcg.collective about their annual Sunday block party, filled with fellowship and community for #HowardHomecoming2024. 🔵🔴🦬

Thanks to all of the incredible Howard alumni, family & friends from across the country who came out last month to celebrate the 100th anniversary of #HowardHomecoming 🔵🔴🦬! We were honored to partner with so many amazing people across 4 days & nights of events, including @jahsonicdc x @dj2tonejones for Wednesdays #UnfadeableParty, @themovemakers x @howardalumni for Howard Family Reunion and the 3rd annual Blaque Mecca Block Party, and
@soulmegadc x @stcg.collective for Kegs & Eggs VII (shown in this 🎥). Big thanks and love to all of our partners, vendors, DJs, and our fantastic staff for setting the vibe at @metrobardc!

Community (noun): A group of people living in the same place or sharing a common characteristic.

We started @kegsandeggshu in 2016 as friends seeking a better option for our Howard Homecoming finale. United as brothers, we set out to create something we could be proud of.

• We began in @gibranisms’ backyard, having a great time!
• @g2esquire and @certified.official documented our journey, taking our vision to Instagram in year two and growing our audience.
• By year four, @nessthehandsome had @soulmega.us in production, and we became promotional partners.
• After the pandemic, we moved to @_johnnydoes’ spot, expanding our collaborators and attendance.
• Last year, we transitioned to @metrobardc for a better guest experience.

This year, we teamed up with @roses.rnt.red and @aarika_rose to elevate the vibes, expanding the party to the block.

We’ve all grown together—it takes a village, and you are that village.

THANK YOU
