Mein erstes eigenes Produkt geht bald in den Handel 🎿🏂

Während meines Praktikums bei @mammut durfte ich die Aenergy Air IN Hybrid Shorts von A bis Z entwickeln – vom ersten Moodboard bis zum finalen Spec Sheet.

Die Inspiration? Boxshorts. Klingt random, macht aber Sinn: schnelle, dynamische Bewegungen aus der Hüfte – genau das, was du auch bei Skitouren und am Berg brauchst.

Was die Short kann:
→ Flexibler Bund, der seitlich nach unten verläuft = maximale Bewegungsfreiheit
→ Durchgehende Vislon-Zips an den Seiten – an- und ausziehen über Schuhe & Ski? Easy
→ K1-Gusset am Innenschenkel gegen Abrieb
→ Velcro-Verschluss mit Webbing für den perfekten Sitz
→ Verstaubar in der eigenen Stowaway Pocket

Damen & Herren identisches Design, nur das Schnittmuster ist an die jeweilige Anatomie angepasst.

During my internship at @mammut, I had the opportunity to develop the Aenergy Air IN Hybrid Shorts from start to finish—from the initial mood board to the final spec sheet.

The inspiration? Boxer shorts. Sounds random, but it makes sense: quick, dynamic movements from the hips—exactly what you need for ski touring and on the mountain.

What the shorts can do:
→ Flexible waistband that slopes downward at the sides = maximum freedom of movement
→ Full-length Vislon zippers on the sides—putting them on and taking them off over boots and skis? Easy
→ K1 gusset on the inner thigh to prevent chafing
→ Velcro closure with webbing for the perfect fit
→ Stowable in its own stowaway pocket

Identical design for women and men, only the pattern is adapted to the respective anatomy.

We developed this concept based on the idea of replacing the annoying labels on clothes and products with a simple QR code. With our app, unlimited information and thus appropriate transparency can be conveyed to consumers. Labels are often cut off but the QR code remains and allows information to stay available. The focus is on the Impact Circle with an individual score, where an exact material composition of the scanned product can be shown with extra information. In addition, there are the usual care instructions with tips on durability, a repair & recycle function and a community platform. The app was presented at milano designweek 2023.

Wir haben dieses Konzept aus der Idee heraus entwickelt, die lästigen Etiketten auf Kleidung und Produkten durch einen einfachen QR-Code zu ersetzen. Mit unserer App können unbegrenzt Informationen und damit entsprechende Transparenz an Konsumierende vermittelt werden. Störende Etiketten werden oft abgeschnitten, aber der QR-Code bleibt und ermöglicht es, dass Informationen verfügbar bleiben. Im Mittelpunkt steht der Impact Circle mit einem individuellen Impact Score des gescannten Produktes. Der Impact Circle zeigt eine genaue Materialzusammensetzung des gescannten Produktes mit Zusatzinformationen auf. Der Impact Score wird auf der Grundlage von Ökoindikatoren berechnet. Die Indikatoren fassen die Umweltauswirkungen von Materialien, Prozessen und Transportwegen in einer Zahl zusammen. Hinzu kommen die üblichen Pflegehinweise mit Tipps um die Langlebigkeit des Produktes zu fördern. Zusätzlich bietet die App eine intuitive Reparatur- & Recyclingfunktion, bei der die Konsumierenden zwischen einem Reparaturservice oder mittels Ersatzteile und einfachen Anleitungen eine DIY-Reparatur wählen können. Die Community-Plattform bietet einen virtuellen Kleiderschrank, bei welchem neue Produkte hinzugefügt werden können. Daraus resultiert ein persönlicher Impact Score, welcher mit anderen verglichen werden kann. Die App wurde an der milano designweek 2023 vorgestellt.

Höher, schneller, weiter: Das ist ist die Prämisse des Skateboardsports. Sie fordert heute Athlet:innen und deren Material gleichermassen heraus. Der Skateschuh «last» bietet den benötigten ergonomischen Schutz. Die Dämpfung im Fersenbereich und die Druckverteilung im Vorderfuss durch ein Performanceboard fängt einwirkende Kräfte ab.

Alle Teile dienen der Leistungssteigerung der Athlet:innen. Die verstärkten Bereiche erhöhen zudem die Lebensdauer des Schuhs. Hergestellt wird der gesamte Schuh aus thermoplastischen Elastomeren TPE, die als Ganzes rezykliert werden können. Das verwendete Material deckt unterschiedlichste Anforderungen ab. So wird sowohl der 3D-gestrickte Oberteil wie auch der gesamte Sohlenbereich aus diesem Material gefertigt. Damit die Athlet:innen sicher siegen.

𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩
Higher, faster, further: that is the premise of skateboarding. Today, it challenges athletes and their materials in equal measure. The "last" skate shoe offers the necessary ergonomic protection. The cushioning in the heel area and the pressure distribution in the forefoot through a performance board absorbs the forces acting on it.

All parts serve to improve the athlete's performance. The reinforced areas also increase the durability of the shoe. The entire shoe is made of thermoplastic elastomers TPE, which can be recycled as a whole. The material used covers a wide range of requirements. Both the 3D knitted upper and the entire sole area are made of this material. So that the athletes can win safely.

“KÜNSTLICHE INTELLIGENZ IM INDUSTRIEDESIGN”

WIE KÖNNEN GENERATIVE ADVERSARIAL NETWORKS DEN DESIGNPROZESS IM INDUSTRIEDESIGN UNTERSTÜTZEN UND VERBESSERN?

This master’s theory intensively investigate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the design process and its application to mobility.

In close collaboration with Kyburz, Stephan developed the concept for the Kyburz Plus 2 senior mobility scooter, specifically for the year 2045, integrating AI especially in the initial and design phase of the design process, supported by various tools.

The design of the Kyburz Plus 2045 combines ergonomic requirements for people with disabilities with state-of-the-art technology. The synergy of my design expertise and the use of AI has resulted in a concept that specifically addresses the needs of people with disabilities, particularly with regard to safe entry and exit and ergonomic aspects.

//Projekt birdbar
Die Biodiversität und ihre Leistungen, die sogenannten Ökosystemleistungen, sind die Grundlage des Lebens auf dieser Erde. Der Zustand der Biodiversität in der Schweiz ist unbefriedigend. Die Hälfte der Lebensräume und ein Drittel der Arten sind bedroht. Mit dem Rückgang der Biodiversität ist auch die genetische Vielfalt verloren gegangen. Das Vogelbad mit integrierter Futterstelle leistet einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Biodiversität. Sie bietet Vögeln und Insekten das ganze Jahr über die Möglichkeit zu trinken und zu baden und ist zudem eine Hilfe bei der Nahrungssuche. Dieses Projekt wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Schweizer Firma Eternit/Swisspearl realisiert. Das Material Eternit ist ein langlebiger und witterungsbeständiger Faserzement, der durch seine Materialeigenschaften überzeugt und sich daher gut für dieses Projekt namens „birdbar“ eignet.

Biodiversity and its services, the so-called ecosystem services, are the basis of life on this earth. The state of biodiversity in Switzerland is unsatisfactory. Half of the habitats and one third of the species are threatened. With the decline in biodiversity, genetic diversity has also been lost. The bird bath with integrated feeding station makes a valuable contribution to biodiversity. It offers birds and insects the opportunity to drink and bathe all year round and is also an aid to foraging. This project was implemented through a cooperation with the Swiss company Eternit/Swisspearl. The material Eternit is a durable and weatherproof fibre cement, which convinces with its material properties and is therefore well suited for this project called „birdbar“.
