✨Monday Mindset at Steele Performance Horses✨ Show week is here—and the work is already done. This isn’t the week to suddenly fix everything, change your entire program, or chase the “perfect” ride. It’s the week to trust your preparation. Keep your rides productive. Keep your horse confident. Polish the details without picking everything apart. Show Week Mindset: Go into the pen focused on what you can control—your preparation, your attitude, your decisions, and how you respond when things don’t go exactly to plan. Because the goal isn’t to arrive at the show perfect. It’s to arrive prepared, confident, and ready to ride the horse you have that day. Training Tip: Keep your pre-show rides simple. Reinforce the things your horse already understands instead of trying to teach something brand new at the last minute. Trust the work. Pack the trailer. ✨Get to Know Alexis Steele✨ Hi! I’m Alexis, the owner and trainer here at Steele Performance Horses. Like many horse girls, I fell in love with horses at a young age. But what started as a passion quickly became a lifelong pursuit. Over the years, that journey has taken me from the show pen to the collegiate level, where I’ve had the privilege of competing, coaching, and learning from some of the best horsemen and horsewomen in the industry. I’m incredibly grateful to have earned multiple World and European Championship titles, compete as an NCAA D1 student-athlete at Fresno State, and later coach D1 collegiate equestrian athletes to multiple conference and All-American honors. Each chapter has shaped the trainer and horsewoman I am today, but one thing has always remained the same: my love for developing confident horses, capable riders, and lasting partnerships. Steele Performance Horses was built on the belief that success starts with a solid foundation. Whether I’m working with a young horse, preparing one for competition, or teaching a first-time rider, my focus is always on patience, consistency, and doing right by the horse. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a rider gain confidence, helping someone accomplish a goal they didn’t think was possible, or seeing a horse truly understand and enjoy its job. Outside of the arena, I believe horsemanship is about far more than ribbons and buckles. It’s about integrity, sportsmanship, continuous learning, and treating every horse and human with respect. The barn should be a safe space for everyone to enjoy the beauty of our sport and passion. Thank you for following along and supporting Steele Performance Horses.
