STORM

Tre Cime is one of the most photographed icons in Dolomites. I was checking photos on internet before the trip, because you read everywhere "be original, don´t repeat already photographed compositions etc". But when I came here and saw Tre Cime for the first time, I was so amazed that I absolutely did not bother with finding something unique. Hovewer, I realized that this one is maybe not that mainstream. (disclaimer: composite)
Tre Cime je jedna z najviac fotografovanych ikon v Dolomitoch. Pred tymto vyletom som si na internete prezeral fotky, pretoze vsade sa docitate "bud originalny, neopakuj uz odfotene kompozicie atd". Ale ked som sem prisiel a zbadal som Tre Cime po prvy krat, bol som tak nadseny ze som sa absolutne nezaoberal s hladanim niecoho unikatneho. Aj ked, tato mozno nie je uplny mainstream. EN: This was finally the place where I could test the new Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 to its absolute limits, and I have to say it passed with flying colors. Flare resistance is even more crucial for panoramas than for single shots, because within a single series, light hits the lens from different angles. With a lens that struggles with backlighting, you either have to shoot a full second series covering the sun with your finger to avoid lens flare and loss of contrast, or fight it out in post-processing. Both take time—which is a major issue in rapidly changing lighting conditions on location—and in post-processing, it’s often impossible to fix completely. The Tamron performed brilliantly. SK: Toto je konecne miesto, kde som mohol vyskusat novy tamron 12-20 F2.8 naozaj naplno a musim povedat, ze dopadol na vybornu. Odolnost na protisvetlo je pri panoramach este dolezitejsia ako pri jednocvakoch, pretoze v ramci jednej serie dopada svetlo do objektivu z roznych stran. Pri objektive ktory ma s protisvetlom problem je bud potrebne spravit celu seriu zaberov so zakrytym slnkom kvoli odleskom a zavoju a druhu aj so slnkom, alebo je potrebne to nejako vybojovat v postprocese. Obe si pri panoramach vyzaduju cas a na je pri rychlo meniacich sa podmienkach na lokacii problem a v postprocese to casto dobre ani odstranit nejde. Tamron obstal na vybornu. SK: Ziadny solarny filter, ziadne zaujimave miesto, ziaden plan. Ako fotograf som mal v plane toto zatmenie vynechat, ale ako otec som chcel synovi dopriat pekny zazitok a drobnu spolocnu spomienku, ktoru si budeme pamatat tak ako si ja pamatam mnohe s mojim otcom
Nakoniec som predsalen spravil aj fotku zatmenia bez toho, aby som si roztavil snimac, ale fotka c. 2 je ta ktora ma tesi viac – spomienka vytvorena spolu.

P.S. Syn bol nadseny, fotak prezil. WIN-WIN!

EN: No solar filter, no interesting location, no plan. As a photographer, I intended to skip this eclipse, but as a father, I wanted to give my son a great experience and a little shared memory—the kind we'll remember just like I remember so many with my own dad.

In the end, I did manage to take a photo of the eclipse without melting my sensor, but photo #2 is the one that brings me more joy—a memory made together.

P.S. Son was thrilled, camera survived. WIN-WIN!

EN: Sunrise at another famous little spot. I struggled big time editing this one, and honestly, I'm still not sure about the result. What do you think? (Last photo in the carousel is the RAW).

SK: Vychod slnka na dalsom znamom miestecku. Odladenie tejto fotky ma pekelne potrapilo, doteraz si nie som isty ci sa mi ten vysledok paci alebo nie. Co povies ty? (posledna foto v carousely je RAW).

Ikonické lokace Moravského Toskánska možná není náročná na fyzickou kondici fotografa, ale rozhodně prověří možnosti techniky. 🌄

Štefan Condík hned při první návštěvě zjistil, že bez pořádného teleobjektivu to nemá smysl. Jeho volbou se stal NIKKOR Z 100–400mm f/4.5–5.6 VR S, který mu umožňuje dostat se přesně k detailům krajiny a vytvářet kompozice, které by jinak nebyly možné. 📸

A když ani 400 mm na full frame nestačí, přichází na řadu telekonvertor TC-2.0x.

EN: SWIPE TO SEE RAW.
Did you manage to take any decent wild garlic photos this year? I have mixed feelings about this year's wild garlic season. It went by way too quickly, but that’s probably because things didn’t go so well for me. This photo is a composition I’ve shot in the past, so I went with a safe bet. Ironically, in other spots that I also thought were safe bets and knew well, I didn't really manage to capture anything decent. On the new locations, my results were mixed, and I lost a lot of time due to bad decisions in the field and misjudging where the light would still be during the golden hour and where it wouldn't.

SK: podarilo sa ti nafotit nejake pekne fotky cesnaku tento rok? ja mam z tohtorocnej cesnakovej sezony zmiesane pocity. ubehla az prilis rychlo, ale to bude asi tym, ze sa mi az tak nedarilo. tato fotka je kompozicia, ktoru som uz fotil v minulosti a isiel som na istotu. na inych miestach, kde som isiel tiez naistotu a poznal som ich sa mi paradoxne nepodarilo asi nafotit nic poriadne. Na novych miestach som mal vysledky zmiesane a vela casu ma stali zle rozhodnutia v terene a zly odhad kde este bude svetlo pocas zlatej hodinky a kde nie.

EN: There is about 1 million shots of this place, even the conditions were quite challenging (check out raw/edit comparison)...but hey, I never say no to a nice spot and postprocessing session.
SK: Z tohto miesta existuje asi 1 milion fotiek a ani podmienky neboli uplne idealne (pozri si porovnanie raw/uprava)...ale uprimne, ja nikdy nepoviem nie peknemu miestu a postprocesu.
