The Pigeons Bathe | Aix-en-Provence, France 🇫🇷

It was around 8pm on a warm summer evening in Aix-en-Provence. I was sitting in the plaza, began to drawing the fountain on my sketchbook and the pigeons happily bathing in it.

While I was drawing, a little 4 years old girl walked over to see what I was doing. She looked closely at my sketch and excitedly pointed at the birds I’d drawn.

She started speaking to me (maybe French or something else). I know some French, but understanding spoken non-English? Absolutely no chance 😅

Her grandfather came over & explained to her that I’m Deaf. He even wrote things down in some English so we could communicate with each other.

I also showed her how to use an eraser, and she become really fascinated by it 😂 Who knew an eraser could be so exciting?!

Then, unexpectedly, she gave me a hug and waved goodbye ❤️

My three-month solo European adventure has come to an end. 🥹❤️

What an unforgettable journey! This experience has given me so much more than beautiful memories - it has helped me grow in confidence, independence and creativity in ways I never expected.

From sketching beautiful cities and discovering incredible architecture to learning about different cultures, picking up new languages, and meeting wonderful people, Europe has filled my creative cup with endless inspiration.

I’m coming home with a sketchbook full of memories, a mind full of ideas, and an even stronger excitement for the next chapter of Stefaz Studio 🇦🇺
