My dining experience at @oiji.mi~ another gem added to the flatiron district! Although I was initially upset to hear that they closed their East Village location, I felt very much relieved after eating here and knowing that everything is still amazing. Excited to see how their new concept unfolds!

Note to self: I definitely need to flash some light in the future to do this place more justice 🥲

Oiji is now Oiji Mi!

The team behind Oiji closed down its East Village location a few months ago and opened up their new concept, @oiji.mi, in Flatiron! The menu and ambiance now seems more elevated, offering a more modern dining experience but still bringing traditional Korean flavors to the table. The 5-course prix-fixe is curated beautifully, and I’m a big fan of their drinks :)

Nom-i Nori 🤍

Hi everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been mia forever~ I’ve been so busy with wedding planning and all that jazz. But now that it’s done - I’m officially a married lady and I’m finally physically and mentally reenergized - I’m back to share my favorite places, like @naminori.nyc! I’m a big fan of all their apps and their temaki makes me see lotsa stars 🤩 I decided to treat myself and added some caviar on top, but they’re still perfect without. Don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this place 🤍

🐟 I believe they have replaced the sea bass with amberjack now, so will go back soon to try it!

Nom-noming at Nami Nori!

I’ve been to @naminori.nyc a few times now and I loved it every time! First, the apps are 🔥🔥🔥 order all of them, especially the calamari and the shima aji sashimi. The crispy rice chips & dips and the furikake fries are also great to share. As for the hand rolls, of course the fish is really fresh, and the different toppings compliment the fish very well making each temaki unique in flavor and texture. I had a difficult time taking off the wrapper the first time (it’s not the wrapper, it’s just me), but by my second visit I was a pro 🤓✨

Such great times at @wenwenbk, especially taking our iconic bathroom selfies 😂🪩📸

The food scene in Brooklyn is one of the best, and this place has easily become one of my top restaurants with its thoughtful food & truly inspiring people. I have so many favorites from that night, it’s hard to just choose one…so I won’t - order everything your big heart desires! It’s really nice to see more and more people enjoy the tastes of Taiwan.

W E N W E N 🇹🇼

Sharing an unbelievable meal at @wenwenbk - omg, what a night! What was supposed to be a chill dinner somehow became a craaaazy Thursday night with Shyboy 4XL cocktails and baijiou shots (thank you, Andy)! No, it wasn’t a rager 😂 Because although we tumbled our way home, we had the most wholesome dinner with huge ass plates of unforgettable, nostalgic Taiwanese flavors (all my favorites). They truly delivered on the homeyness of the meal, while also packing in some party vibes.

T Y G E R 🐯

Everything at @thetygernyc was an explosion of flavors and colors. Each dish was rich in so many elements, combining hints of saltiness, sweetness, spiciness, and acidity. It may sound overwhelming, but the menu is influenced by a lot of countries in Asia that embrace powerful flavors. But I’m all for it - just here salivating throughout the entire meal and licking every plate clean within seconds. Although they were apps, my favorite was probably the hamachi crudo…or the sashimi of scallop! The tyger prawns are up there too, but I wish the prawns were bigger! It may be a tad on the pricey side, but still worth all the buzz.

Also s/o to our waitress, Sarah, who was the absolute sweetest - very welcoming, attentive, smiley, and comforting.

Damn @thetygernyc! Checked this place out for dinner and I’m ready to go back again. Not only does the greenhouse dining area make you feel refreshed with all the sun and the green, the food was delicious and bursting with so many Asian flavors. Seriously, when each plate came out, there were stars in my eyes and I was drooling onto my plate; all the wonderful smells were just so hypnotizing and it just kept on giving. The cocktails were also lovely and strong! When I left after my fourth one, I was definitely on the other side 😂😍🔥

Out at @outronyc! 🌼

Happy Spring, everyone! Gimme some fresh air and vitamin D, winter is officially over and it’s no longer painful to go outside. I’m ready for cute cardigan weather, an OD of colors, breezy outdoor dining, cherry blossoms, and the fact that it’s still light outside after I get off of work - so many things to be excited for! I hope everyone feels energized and revived as we head into the new season 🌸

On a separate note, @outronyc is a cute place to eat brunch, grab some coffee, and do some work! You can sit indoors or in their garden in the back, and yes they have outlets!

To all my QUEENS out there - Happy International Women’s Day! 👑

I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many strong women in my life - women who dream big, women who shatter the glass ceiling, women who never settle, women who empower other women, women who fail and come back stronger, women who #BreakTheBias. Listening to some of your stories and watching your dreams come true continue to inspire me, and I hope that today you can take a moment to appreciate yourself and be proud of how far you’ve come. Stay badass & beautiful, ladies! #IWD2022

Tonight I made some roasted miso butter maitake with chives for dinner! Whenever I see maitake on a menu, I always order it. It’s one of my faves, and I woke up really craving it. But when I went grocery shopping, they were already all sold out. But thanks to @umamicart, I got everything I needed (and some of my favorite snacks hue) delivered same day (whaaaaaat)! #apronsquad!

AHH~ I’m so PUMPED to collab with @hedleyandbennett! Their aprons are incredible quality (durable & stitched to perfection), practical but stylish (designed with many different colors and prints for both adults and kids), and loved by many restaurant & home chefs around the world (if you watch @bravotopchef - you know)!

Now, I am by no means a great chef. I cook at home from time to time, but nothing amazing 🥲 But it’s something I look forward to improving - recreating recipes and trying new ones myself, learning which ingredients compliment or fight each other, and exploring dishes from different cultures. It’s gonna be slow, but at least it’s starting! Also, +10 points if you spot @heiiolouie! 😹
