It's been a lovely sunny, mild day on Clara street, thank you so much for visiting - if you did !

I had so many great conversations with people.
From my neighbours and friends to complete strangers.
Deep conversations about special places and structures, about creativity and its place in all our lives.

These last few days !
As I prepare for @makersfrontyard I reflect on the home as my sanctuary.
These first two pics are from our Clara Street place. The ancient weatherboards link these two.
Earlier this afternoon, @msartiststudios, I was helped by Natalia @notfineartstudio to hang a piece in the corridor, ready for our open days, next week.
Pics 4 and 6 are from school, the first week of term. I got very excited with my year 3s and 4s on Tuesday, sorting hama beads, twigs, straws and beads ready for some pointilist
assemblages. They did an amazing job and I love teaching about preparing to make work instead of putting the materials in front of them. I hope they're learning to enjoy all the facets of the creative process and to respect the materials, however tiny.

At the end of Tuesday, I was blown away by the gorgeous Pandorea Jasmanoides flowering, along the school fence . ❤️❤️❤️

Small joys !

I'm excited to be taking part in @makersfrontyard this year as part of @sydneycraftweek
We have lived in this house for around 25 years, and from the moment I walked in, it seemed special. Parts of it have been the subject of a number of my artworks over the years.
Clara Street is a short one, running from Camden through to Alice St, Newtown. We have our own book library, which is currently being renovated - for some reason, I habitually tidy it most days when I pass.

I also love to tend a few plants in pots and narrow gardens close by.

Anyway, our house has the mango tree in the front yard - and looks just like the pics. You can't miss it !

I will be offering my smaller hand-made linoprints of local icons, beloved places and natural wonders, unpackaged greeting cards and screen printed teatowels, screen printed in Stanmore by @bobbinandink
For your convenience, Rebecca and co @mrsunderwood2048 will help you out with coffee and delicious food. It's a cutie of a cafe 2 minutes from our door.

I'm feeling very happy with how my show was received over these last few days. Yes, it was too short ! Yes, I am still recovering.

But best of all, I felt so much love and support from all my friends, family, new and old studio buddies and art lover visitors alike.
And of course Kate and Felix @tiliquatiliqua

So many people were engaged and curious, and I love , love explaining some of my processes. Being in a different space with my work around me gives a fresh perspective . Then, there are the reactions, observations and insights from the audience.

A snippet from my talk about Interior Expansion @tiliquatiliqua on Thursday night.

Many, many thanks to @shanyrichstudio for filming this.

Over the two days, I have been in the gallery. I have had a lot of time to sit and think.

What I have observed and felt most keenly is the overwhelming support of my innerwest community.

Neighbours and friends - thank you 😊

Thank you to my former studio host and creative mastermind, Camilla @mess_with_it_project_room, turning up with her group of friends on Thursday night ! ❤️

To my new studio buddies from @msartiststudios dropping in and showing their support.
I have felt a warm embrace of your love !

This creative life is not a competition!

It's a devine celebration that we are privileged to partake in and be part of.

I will be in the gallery today from
11 - 6 pm
257 Enmore Road
