I finished my first Olympic length triathlon yesterday! It wasn’t fast but it’s still a personal best. As the race director said when he gave me the 1 of 1 first place in my age group prize, sometimes it just matters that you show up. I’m proud I showed up for myself, conquered a bunch of hills, and made it to the finish line!

Thank you @njchessmates for joining my cheer squad and taking this finish line video 💪

Showing off the medal at the 2nd highest peak in New Jersey

In typical @jtkelly__ and Katie fashion, we made an adventure day out of our trip to Sussex county for the race. We drove up to this beautiful viewpoint and on the pillar noting the elevation our names were already written on it. 💖

Post race matcha treat at @nativacoffeebar, very yummy and cute spot!

A pretty moment in the woods on the race

A difficult section of the race. It was kind of mean of them to put a trail run in during the last mile of the race but happy that I go hiking enough to take it in stride, enjoy the woods, and make it through to the finish line. by @steinkatie

I’m so lucky to witness this talent! What a joy that being adjacent to the #Newark community has brought me into spaces with these incredible artists. What an honor to hear @jane.tza sing and @gailcampbellmusic belt and @miaxthepoetfromnwknj recite and @producedbyroc play and @tehsuanglover curate and @jreadtheartist perform on a magical Friday afternoon. Hope you will listen and let their voices lighten your day and inject your feed with purpose over negativity. by @steinkatie

I took a bite out of a creative cookie throughout March, trying to set aside one hour a day for creativity. Some with my people and some solo, all fun by @steinkatie

This week I got to go to the @unitednations NY HQ thanks to @wbgojazz! Heard from an inspiring panel of Women in Jazz and vibed to some incredible musicians alongside my @njpac fam @rohyde1102, @the_blessed_wolf and @moreso.marcus. Honored to be in the space, shocked by photo 8, energized by the powerful women and overjoyed to be part of a vibrant music community. 🌎🎷 by @steinkatie

With these freezing temps this week, I’m thinking of the sunnier days with my family on our trip to Mexico over the holidays. Grateful we got away from the cold and had this time together 💕 by @steinkatie
