Things I wish social media told me before visiting Western Australia.

It prepared me for the Insta-famous coasts and vistas, but not for the raw, humbling power of the places in between.

It didn’t tell me that one of the truest encounters with this ancient land would be standing on the banks of the Fitzroy River at Looma.

Social media shows you perfection. But here, the beauty is in the scale, the silence, and the sheer age of it all.

It’s in the deep rust-red of the riverbank against the endless blue sky. It’s the knowledge that this river is a lifeline, a creator, a storykeeper for millennia. The heat has weight. The quiet is profound. The landscape doesn’t just surround you...it asks you to pause and listen.

This moment, feeling small yet connected..is what travel is really about.

Western Australia’s true essence isn't just in its sights, but in feelings like this. The Kimberley doesn't just show you a river, it lets you feel the heartbeat of the country.

And what social media really didn’t tell me?
That some of the most meaningful moments come from the unplanned ones. Our mechanic took us here while we waited on parts for Stella. What could have been an inconvenience became a gift - a place shared, stories swapped, kindness extended. It was the hospitality of the people we met, the friendships forged, and the unforgettable moments in between that made this place live forever in my heart.

✋🏻Hi guys, Allie here. There is a good chance you’ve just landed on my socials or seen my Stella Rose in person or connected on social media

I’m a medically retired firefighter and long time entrepreneur, I’m in my 50s now and feel more energised than I did in my 30s.

So you may be wondering how did Stella Rose come about ?

Back in 2022, when I was leaving for a lap around Australia, in my Ford ranger and my Malibu caravan the engine blew up at 65000k’s so I test drove the 3 main runners in American trucks here in Australia, and at first I just couldn’t justify the price, the size parking her everyday but when the ranger blew up I said “no” she’s fit for purpose and here she is!

53 today… or is it 35? 🎂✨

My birth certificate says 53.

But if I’m honest… my heart & soul still feels 35.

Not because I’m trying to be younger, but because I’ve never felt more alive.

Today wasn’t about a big party or extravagant gifts. It was spent exactly how I wanted it - with my best friend, rugged up against the crisp winter air, exploring the breathtaking coastline of Wilsons Prom, laughing at the fact I was wearing UGG boots on the beach (something I never thought I’d do! 😂), and stopping to admire wild wombats quietly going about their day.

It reminded me that the richest life isn’t measured by the number of birthdays we celebrate… it’s measured by the memories we create.

A few years ago, I never imagined I’d feel this healthy, this adventurous or this excited about what lies ahead.

That’s why I’m so passionate about helping people realise that longevity isn’t just about adding years to your life…

It’s about adding life to your years.

Feeling strong enough to chase adventure.
Healthy enough to keep exploring.
Curious enough to keep learning.
Grateful enough to appreciate every single day.

If I can still feel 35 while celebrating 53, then I know I’m doing something right. 🩷

To everyone who called, messaged or posted a birthday wish today… thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love, kindness and beautiful words made an already wonderful day even more special.

Living on the road means dealing with all kinds of weather, and after surviving a Top End wet season, moisture and mould became one of our biggest challenges.

I’ve been trialling the @21captains Air Refiners for the past few months throughout our rooftop tent, canopy, camera gear and fishing drawers, and I’m genuinely impressed with the difference they’ve made.

I also love that they’re completely chemical-free, so they fit perfectly with my low-tox lifestyle. No more moisture or mould

And while we’re talking about favourites… their shammy towel is hands down the best I’ve used to dry Stella after a wash! 🚿

It’s always nice when a product actually lives up to its promises and earns a permanent spot in our setup.

Sun, sand and shade for days. ☀️🏖️💕
