Rappresentazione non significa inserire un corpo grasso nella scena, significa permettergli di essere qualunque cosa.

Con @stella_pecollo , attrice e performer, abbiamo giocato a immaginare quanti personaggi potessero vivere dentro la stessa donna e quanti mondi potesse raccontare attraverso un abito.

Io creo vestiti. Ma quello che desidero davvero è contribuire a creare un immaginario più grande, nel quale nessuna di noi debba più domandarsi:
“Una come me può farlo/indossarlo/averlo?”

Quale personaggio vorresti finalmente vedere interpretato da un’attrice plus size?

Ti chiedi perchè è importante fare complimenti che non riguardino il corpo?
Perché ricordano alle persone che il loro valore non coincide con il loro aspetto.

Dire “sei dimagrita, stai benissimo” può sembrare gentile, ma può insegnare che essere più magre significhi essere più belle, sane o meritevoli. E non sappiamo mai cosa ci sia dietro un cambiamento fisico: stress, malattia, lutto, disturbi alimentari, farmaci o semplicemente una fase della vita.

I complimenti non estetici, invece, nutrono qualcosa di più profondo:

* “Mi fai sentire accolta.”
* “Amo il modo in cui racconti le cose.”
* “Sei stata coraggiosa.”
* “Hai un’energia bellissima.”
* “Con te posso essere me stessa.”
* “Sei davvero brava in quello che fai.”
* “Mi piace come ti prendi cura delle persone.”

Non significa che sia vietato dire “sei bellissima”. Significa far sentire una persona vista non soltanto per il corpo che mostra, ma per ciò che pensa, crea, attraversa e dona.
