One of my guitar idols was there after the Buddy Guy concert.

A while ago Spotify sent me an email that Steve Vai and Joe Satriani were playing at SDSU. I asked my parents if we could go, and of course we did.

So when my mom spotted Steve Vai last night, I went over and asked him, “Are you Steve Vai?”

I told him I play guitar and that I’d seen him with Joe Satriani. Then I said, “I saw you play the Hydra!”

I think that surprised him a little. Then he started asking me about my guitars! I told him about my Strat, my Gretsch and some of the others.

Definitely did not expect to end my Buddy Guy night talking guitars with one of my guitar idols.

“For Stella.” ❤️🎸

I still can’t believe this happened. I got to watch Buddy Guy play at 90 years old, and somehow I came home with a program signed just for me.

Maria from The Rady Shell surprised me with it after the show, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment.

Buddy was AMAZING. At one point during the show I literally asked my mom, “Can we stay here forever?” 😂

I loved hearing Buddy talk about how important it is to keep this music alive. I’m 11, I love playing the blues, and I hope I can be one of the people who helps keep it alive for the next generation. 🎸

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram was incredible too. Getting to watch a younger guitarist carrying the blues forward and then Buddy at 90 made the whole night even more special.

Buddy’s band was amazing, and I got to meet his guitarist and keyboardist afterward. His guitarist told me I need to come to Chicago. My dad is apparently ready to take me tomorrow. 😂

And Buddy and I have something else in common… we both have a sunburst Strat. ❤️🎸
