I miss this show so DAMNED much. 💀 I've spent an entire year hiding myself as much as possible and I don't want to do that in 2025. I miss dancing in front of people. So the only solution is I'm just gonna have to dance in front of y'all again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

1. Me at 39.

2. Me at 14, looking like I'm fleeing Prague before the great wars (As my great grandmothers did!) LOL Seriously why do I look so tragic ... by @stellabystarshine

Visiting Poe's grave in Baltimore, shortly before the pandemic. Both his newer grave and his original grave (empty, obvs.) are in the same church yard, along with some OLD graves that have unreadable, half-buried tombstones. It's an atmospheric visit!

@snarkymiranda took the pics! 🤍

I'm finding that the deeper I fall into academia, language, and my writing, the less attention I give to my body. So my goal for 2026, besides finishing this manuscript, is to pay equal importance to my mind AND my physicality. I think this is the last dance video I recorded, at my heaviest. And it's not that being heavier is in any way bad, but more so that I've let it be an EXCUSE to not perform or even practice in the way I used to. And so gaining weight was never the true obstacle. The obstacle was my mindset. I lost a whole year thanks to body dysmorphia. Screw that. Never again.

Ireland through sunglasses 🧡🏰🍀

I love taking pictures through sunglasses. I wish I would have taken more colored lenses with me!

I saw this book. I saw this display at work. I heard this song. My brain is a marvelous place.

Ireland 💚☘🍀 I took over 2k pics so expect to see a few more. 😅 🏰 #ireland

Some of these were taken through my sunglasses and the rainbow I got through the window of a moving bus. There's only so much you can do with an 8 year old phone but I think they came out ok.

It used to really bother me that I don't resemble my grandmother. I've always favored the Slavic side of the family, which I've come to appreciate quite a lot, but still ... I look for her in my face, and I can't find her. (She had a Czechian mother, who I more so resemble, but the German side really took over on her and my mom.)
Look at these two pictures, though. They jumped out at me tonight while scrolling through some folders. There's something here. That's me last year at 37 and her in her twenties (I think; might've been in her teens). Maybe it's the expression? It's not our features. I don't know what it is, but we feel alike here. Two Pisces fishes. 🐟 🐠 Anyway, I miss her like crazy. "Time does not bring relief, you all have lied." #oma #grandmother by @stellabystarshine

I'm so pleased to say that I placed as a finalist for the Susan Kamil Emerging Writers Prize (via @thinkingbinc ) which is awarded annually to a bookseller working on a manuscript. (!!!) Out of hundreds of entries, there were two winners and nineteen finalists. Congratulations to everyone! Working on a manuscript is both frustrating and fulfilling work!

What an excellent mission 💗
