Mary found her way to Leadville. Matthew found his way to Mary. Together they began building a meaningful life in the mountains.

He's a big game hunter, a man of many interests and someone who knows his way around the wild. She's a fiercely independent adventurer who, somehow, has still managed to teach him a thing or two.

Yesterday, in the place they now call home, with friends and family from near and far...they got married.

Congrats Mary + Matthew @blackbear_jewelrydesign

Loved the vibe at S+S wedding on Saturday!
The vibrant colors, the people, the food, the dancing and the miniature highland cows (I mean stop!).
Congrats you two! ❤️

lori and mark flew in from florida, and the surf hotel gave them the kind of day you build a whole wedding around chasing.

an intimate crowd, gathered close. their people, undivided attention, nothing to perform for.

lori might be one of the most ethereal brides i’ve ever photographed. i’d just seen florence and the machine live before this wedding, and she gave me full florence energy. flowing fabric, golden light, that kind of unbothered grace you can’t pose someone into. getting inspired by the person in front of my lens is one of my most favorite parts of this career.

the surf house may be the most stunning place to get ready at any venue in colorado right now. every corner already looked like it was styled for a shoot. and the surf itself gave us that elegant, european, sun soaked backdrop all day long. the kind of setting that makes a wedding feel like it’s floating a little outside of time.

we had the whole morning to ourselves. first look, portraits, a walk around town, nothing to race. by the time family portraits were done, the day already felt like it had all the time in the world.⁣
